I'm not interested in Slo Motion. It's so corny to me.

Why does everyone assume with Fong coming back... that Snyder will return to using slow-mo shots? For all we know, Snyder could bypass slow-mo for this film, no matter who was lensing the project.

Yeah. He's very nice and cheerful, and his voice is actually rather high pitched

Exactly.

If Snyder wants slow-mo shots, we'll see slow-mo shots. If he doesn't, we won't.

What's wrong with the slow-mo shots? As long as they don't use it too much in the movie, it could make Batman and Superman look badass and powerful.

I can't wait to see the cinematography in the movie, Snyder/Fong takes pages straight from the comics and makes it look even more amazing.

I wouldn't mind some slow-mo shots. But I liked the "real time" view of the action in MoS more so than if those shots were done in slow motion. It really showed off how powerful they were.

Batman swooping can use some slow mo. Superman having bullets ricochet off him looks cool in slow-mo (as seen in one of the better parts of SR).

I'd love to see a time-ramped Batarang.

But the Watchmen style, is perfect for the dark, but stylized character of Batman, and the MOS cinematography (but with natural colors) is perfect for the contemplative style of Superman.

I'd actually want a Superman/Batman to be a more conventional ZS movie, but I'd want a true sequel first.

co-signed. that and the editing were my biggest complaints with MoS.

I'm disappointed by this. Please keep the naturalistic style of MoS, just slightly less grainy and with warmer colours. Please none of the over saturated, over choreographed, suffocating garbage that made up Watchmen. A few slow motion shots, sure. Good. Speed ramping for "oMG< C00L!!". Please no. Please no.

I mean, I assume he's not going to change the visual language of the series drastically, but still.

yeah many people said that... but imo shaky cam didn't bother me (I found it more like a real shot) and the editing BB's style was great with it's flaws, many don't like this style but I see this style as a unique and great way to tell an story putting you totally in the movie....but the two imo are choices from snyder.. but with fong as a cinematographer they'll make a great team...

You missed my point or the details of my post smallville fan. The scene itself was great, it put a smile on my face in regards to seeing him learn how to fly and go all over the place. It was the picture quality shift from him first taking off when he has his fist to the ground(which looked great) to him flying over the fields, which looked like it was filmed using a ****** camera.

I doubt the aesthetics of the fight sequences and so on will drastically change from real time to slow motion, but I am quite eager to see less shaky cam and a more cinematic approach to the film. I really disliked the handheld cinematography in Man of Steel. Wasn't as prevalent in Mokhri's work on the Wolverine but it was still there.

Mokhri didn't shoot the Wolverine did he?

I think Watchmen was lined up to be the perfect storm, great aesthetics, great look, great budget, the right director. I think it was ruined by the script and casting. Th script was really really bad. When you read the book, it has even in its episodic structure great momentum, it unfolds as a mystery, and races towards it conclusion. The film was stultifying in its lack of narrative momentum. A giant missed opportunity.

"Races toward it's conclusion"?

Which WATCHMEN did you read?

Anyway, this is fairly exciting news. I do think people tend to overstate the prevelance and impact of slo-mo in Snyder's work, regarding WATCHMEN in particular.

I think I might have read the watchman's manual by mistake.

I love this piece of news. MoS's cinematography did nothing for me, so I'm glad to see Fong's return.

A cinematographer collaborates with the director, they exchange ideas, they go back and forth on the visual approach of the film, which means that Snyder might want a similar style to MoS, but Fong's eye WILL make a difference this time around. And for the better, too, imo. And no, this doesn't mean slomo at all.

Between this and Ben, dare I say... WB/Snyder are listening...?

Ross Emery shot it and I think he did a god job. Specially the Shingen fight which was a visual masterpiece.

I like Larry Fong, but he and Snyder have kind of an established aesthetic together...and I don't like that aesthetic for this project at all. I hope they branch out from their usual style for this.

Yep,good points and you might be right about WB/Snyder. MOS was a great start and all concerned will have learned from it. I'm hoping to hear about the writing next and who might be involved with that, maybe Affleck to contribute/co write as a lot of us have been hoping?
