We know Affleck is working out, but is there any word of fight training?

I wonder if since he is in a mask there is really any need for him to train in martial arts since they could have a martial artists film the fight scenes though.

I'm just as interested in Wonderwoman's fight style.
I can only assume it will involve traditional weapons.

There might be Bruce Wayne scenes that require fight training.

If he did, I just saw this the other day, and I think that it would look good. It is fast, aggressive, direct to the point and he is would be doing something that has never been done in a movie before. I think that looks good even to the people who don't know martial arts. Plus, it looks like something that a real fighter would use, it wouldn't look like movie fights with dramatic punches and kicks, it would look realistic.

I am going to repost this here for those who have not seen this.

To me, that is how I would picture Batman fighting, quick with power and not letting the opponent land a punch, he should be the attacker. He shouldn't be standing there dodging punches, and ducking under punches, and dodging and blocking. That is not what a good fighter does. If someone moves, you move faster, if someone punches before you attacked fine, then you block the one punch and move quickly like that. You shouldn't stand and block and block and block. Your block can be a strike.

Damn that's a lot to learn is such short amount of time. Maybe she's just learning the basic moves of all those discipline's.

Since this is pretty much how my style goes it would be pretty cool to see Batman use the same kind of techniques that I do.

So you know what I am talking about that it is explosive, direct and he isn't standing around like in movies where a guy punches, the other one blocks and there is like a small pause after a block like to let the audience see what happened. It isn't necessary to do it, show it full speed, if you need to slow it down use slow motion like they did in Sherlock Holmes and 300 to demonstrate what is going on but for the most part in movie fights the audience can't tell what is going on anyway because of the shaky cam. So either use slow motion, or regular speed without the shaky cam. Pretty simple really with an amazing direct style of kung fu.

I was playing Arkham Origins and seriously, all the guys have from BvS have to do is get the guys who developed Batman's fighting style in those games and say: "See what you did there? Just to it again but now for a film".

Done.

I was going to make a thread on this after seeing some of his moves in the newest trailer. His fighting brought back memories of Bale for me.

Yea, when he's throwing the elbows at those guards, it reminded me a bit of Bale too. But Batfleck's movement seems quicker, smoother and brutal.

While I'm on board with Affleck, I think Bale was fantastic. His moves seemed very quick and agile while fighting.

I agree, the moves didn't look all that different from Bale's. The main difference was the speed and the way it was shot.

Bale's fighting style was actually pretty solid, it was the camera work and speed that spoiled it...I was hoping for fight scenes like TWS, but maybe instead we'll get the TDK-style done right.

This is basically how I'd like to see Batman fight. No nonsense, no flashy moves. Just brutally powering on through.

^ I really don't want them to overthink it, though. I don't want to see a tornado kick when a simple punch can do the trick. I do think he should be fancy if he's fighting a formidable opponent or is surrounded. There's a part in the Dark Knight (08) where it appears that Batman is going to wind up for a punch, and instead does an elbow jab. It really bugs me, because the time he does the elbow strike, he could have done multiple quick jabs to the face.

If he fights like Night Owl II or Rorschach did in Watchmen, I'd be satisfied.

Aside from the super-human things Veidt did, his combat was smooth and well choreographed. Especially in a certain scene. I don't want to spoil anything for those that haven't seen Watchmen.

He should break a few bones here and there, but mostly I want to see him dodge or parry once then put his attacker down quick. Chops to the throat, perhaps a few leg sweeps, and make us FEEL the punches. Good coreography means nothing if the puches don't resonate.

Perfect example, I love Matrix Reloaded fight scenes, but upon rewatching years later, the punches never feel like they have any real power to them, even when people are being punched 20 feet away.

There needs to be that raw brutality like in Daredevil series, I find. If I have any complains about the way Daredevil fights, it is that it takes too much punches and kicks from him to finally bring down an opponent. While the fights are very well choreographed, sometimes it becomes distracting when he hits and kicks the same guy for the tenth time and the guy getting up, even though single punch like that would most probably bring him down.

Batman should be quick and efficient. Other than that, yeah, utilize eight limbs fighting style and break their bones.

Imo, the Watchmen fights are seriously overrated. The slow-mo, "pose with every kick" style doesn't do it for me.

Well said. I think they purposely showed DD having to work hard to take guys out; he's a very grounded superhero and he doesn't have enhanced strength or anything, so it makes sense. I assume he'll get more proficient and smooth in the future as he grows.
