The novel is notable for its controversial subject: the protagonist and unreliable narrator, middle-aged literature professor and hebephile Humbert Humbert, is obsessed with the 12-year-old Dolores Haze, with whom he becomes sexually involved after he becomes her stepfather. "Lolita" is his private nickname for Dolores.

This honestly doesn't matter. She's 21. No biggie.

With that said, I personally feel like I couldn't do it. If I was almost 40, I couldn't date someone that young. She'd at least have to be early 30s.

Didn't he once say he wouldn't hook up with Jennifer Lawrence because of her age?

Why did you laugh in the first place if you didn't get the reference?

Maybe he's reading it because the age difference has to be at least subconsciously on his mind.

I'm sure we'd all say that until we meet someone we like who is that age and they force you to reconsider what you made a rule before.

I'm very surprised at how average looking she is. He's a good lookin dude, maybe they connect on a deeper level. If that's the case then I have even more respect for the guy.

Well, most pretty girls in the entertainment business whether they're singers, actresses, etc. etc. have an ego the size of the universe and they like to let you know it so yeah, most entertainers gravitate towards people not in the same business.

P.S. I don't think she looks that bad. She's just dressed in normal street clothes and doing normal people stuff with Bradley. lol They're not at a fashion shoot, movie premier, etc. etc.

Suki Waterhouse is a model, which is the same industry as far as I'm concerned. No comment on whether she's "average looking" or not.

Is it possible that Bradley Cooper could be doing research for a 3rd movie version of Lolita?

No, didn't think so.

I think she's pretty enough. Beauty is more than skin deep anyway. Maybe she seems more genuine to him and they get on well. It's like people saying that Ted Mosby's wife should be this stunning supermodel when he really was going to go for someone he connected with on a deeper level (who is still very pretty anyway).

Technically it's not the same though. Bradley is an actor who is in front of the camera to entertain people. Suki's job description is to make fashions or products look good for the upscale consumer. It's like apples and oranges.

Just because she's a model doesn't mean she can't be average looking. lol

I think she's cute enough.

They look like father and daughter though.

That's because, in her case, she does look only about 16. But not all 21 year olds look as young as her so someone else might look like there's less of a gap.

And some women in their mid to late 20s look and behave like they are still a teenager. I know a girl who seems completely like a young school girl even though she is over 25 because she is quiet, shy and lacking in confidence, and does look very young as well.

Voicing Rocket Raccoon and dating a 21 year old model. It's like he just fulfilled about 45% of nerd fantasy.
