Can't recall one either..., but my point was more that some of the armored suits being presented here look like they would take a very long time to put on, no matter how accessible; while something like Alex Ross' suit much less. Fully realize that the suit will probably be somewhere in the middle of the two, but shouldn't some thought be put into the ease at which the suit can be put on while designing it.

Spiderman and Superman can be lame and wear their costumes under their clothes.

Batman suits up in style.

This is a costume I found on TheRPF. I thought it was pretty fantastic. With a few changes and the Hollywood touch of course. Mad props to the creator.

Here is the link to his page.

I hope they don't go in that direction. I want a sleek streamlined Batman for once. Something more along the lines of the Batman Returns suit, but fabric based and with a more mobile cowl.

It's not about what's real (there are bulletproof TUXEDO'S for crying out loud!). It's about what can be SOLD as realistic to the audience. But that doesn't mean Batman should have to lug 30+ pounds of material just to "look the part."

I say middle ground. We don't want thin-looking cloth, but we don't want Batman looking like a robot. Speed, I think, is more important then looking cool.

And personally (with the exception of the Burton and Begins suits, and some of that was more due to the lighting of Batman) I think most of the movie suits lack in both aspects.
I'd actually go for something like the first Burton suit. It looked pretty much like a Neal Adams drawing come to live, except for the color. I'd like something sturdy that looks not like a costume made of fabric but more like second skin.

The best parts of the suit are the cowl and the fact it's not solid black. But I agree, it's not ideal.

Assuming that early 2014 is correct for when principal filming will commence. How long does anyone think it will be until we get spy pics of the new bat suit?

Personally, I am hoping for day 1!

I don't want spy pics to be our first exposure to the new suit. I'm hoping they release a badass official still after filming for a month or two.

Snyder released the (awesome) first official still of Superman a day or two before shooting started, which he said he was going to do all the way back during the Sucker Punch press tour. He wanted to avoid our first look at the suit being 'some grainy, horrible set shot'.

I'd expect the same for Batman.

I remember an issue in the Knightfall storyline, where Poison Ivy turns a bunch of Gotham football players into zombies and attacks a charity event that Bruce Wayne is participating in. Drawn by Jim Aparo. He does a classic shirt rip there.

Yes, I'm sure he's done that. I think though, the creators probably stayed way from that as much as possible with Batman, the shirt rip gimmick is more of a Superman thing.

For someone like Bruce Wayne, it'd be way too dangerous to wear his costume under his suit. With all the Paparazzi around him, it takes one good picture of his costume peeking out of his suit to blow his cover.

Actually, I'm beginning to think that maybe Snyder might go for the trunks for Batman this time, to differentiate him somewhat from Superman. We'll see. Hard to be absolutely sure at this point.

You'd think the boots, gauntlets, cowl and utility belt are enough to differentiate him from Superman.

The trunks are OUT! Snyder spoke out very strongly against trunk during the MOS promo tour. So the trunks are absolutely out of the question.

That was only in reference to Superman, and the right of it is, that he wanted the trunks but could not find a way to portray them appropriately, so the dropped them. For Batman, which he has not discussed any aspects of the suit, you cannot say the trunks are absolutely out of the question, just like I can't say they are absolutely going to be a part of the costume. At this point it could go either way is all I'm saying.
