sorry, you can't deny it is pretty generic and unimaginative. This is Marvel, the house of ideas, where pretty great artists work and people who are creative and full of good ideas. they came up with what is essential a rehash of the IM3 poster and about every second genre movie poster ever. I expected more and better.

Hahaha! This is a teaser poster, if the official one was simple like this, then the complaining would actually be justified.

I wouldn't expect much from the final poster either. They simply aren't used the same way anymore as a marketing tool.

With the internet existing and how many people use it aside from us fanboys, I'm not surprised.

Most fans that freakout over the posters act like if the poster is terrible people won't see the movie and it will bomb.

Most theatres just stick the teaser poster up as the main one anyway if they don't get an additional one. Or if they're just lazy about it.

I've loved the recent Marvel posters recently. The one where Iron Man is falling from the sky was great and the back shot for Captain America makes sense seeing as the shield is iconic regardless of the overuse of that pose.

Plus they did this. So all acts both past and future are forgiven.

So true. I'm more curious about the outrageously basic movie stills we'll be getting soon

The shot from the back is overused but you can't deny the fact that it makes every poster look somewhat 'cool'. And Cap's poster is no exception, even more so because the shield is so iconic, and looks great in the back.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Isn't this shot actually the very same image we first saw released back in April, only with a helmet?

I've actually really loved 90% of the posters for Cap. The only ones I thought were funky in a bad way were the last couple of posters for TFA, the ones where Chris' head was photoshopped onto the rest of his body, obvi.

I do think that the shot from the back is perfectly used here, as was stated above, since the iconic shield is front and center and framed oh-so-perfectly by the very iconic DC background, then the SHIELD logo and Helicarrier.

It pretty much tells us where the movie is set, who Cap'll be working with, and gives it a foreboding feel. My favorite MCU poster though is still the Iron Man 3 one of Tony falling from the sky. I'm really just hoping that the first poster to feature Widow, Sharon or Maria Hill stays away from the girl-clinging-to-the-hero and stupid sexy poses that aren't natural for these agents.
