Or what about the fact that despite my apparent bias over that NFC Championship game, Victor Cruz is one of my favorite wide receivers in the game today?

But Eli is not "great". It doesn't take a bias against him to see it. It just takes watching the games.

He's inconsistently good, and prone to piss poor decision making.

I'd say if anyone is acting "foolish", it's the one who has to resort to "oh, he's a fan of X team, he's just bitter" remarks in lue of a real argument.
There's no argument to have. This is all just your insane ramblings that all of his accomplishments were based on luck and he's done nothing else. Then you throw around the words "elite" and "great", scoff at it and then admit you have rooted for the guy.

I resorted to the "oh, he's a fan of X team, he's just bitter" because it's the only plausible explanation for this buffoonery.

Please, just stop embarrassing yourself. Glad I'm not the only one that sees it.

I don't think Eli is a hall of a famer, nor should he be placed in the top tier of quarterbacks today. Brady and Peyton Manning really are just on another level from everyone else, even Brees and Rogers. Consistent winners/performers no matter who is around them. I'd give the edge to Brady because he's done more with less.

Sad news. Adrian Peterson's child has just passed away due to the injuries he sustained.

Wow. I didn't think he'd actually die. Absolutely tragic.

The best quarterback of the past fifteen years is Tom Brady.

Yeah, I guess the injuries were so bad they took him off life support.

It's being reported that Peterson's son has died. I'm sickened by this.

Damn. There's going to be hell to pay for Patterson. As unfortunate as it is for Minnesota fans, I wouldn't blame Peterson for taking the rest of the season off to grieve.

I'd still say Peyton, but a valid case can be made either way.

And that news about Peterson's son is sickening. There's a special place in hell for people like that. My thoughts and condolences to AP.

Honestly, the biggest thing against Manning is his playoff record along with him only having one Super Bowl. If he doesn't become the usual turnover machine this year in the playoffs, I'd love for him to go all the way.

That's valid, but my counter to that is the same counter I have to Eli's 2 rings... It's more than just one guy determining the outcome.

Not to say Peyton hasn't had his "chokes", but a lot of times, those losses were on his teammates letting him down, when he did what was necessary to win.

A good example was last year against the Ravens. Peyton should never have even been in the position to throw that overtime interception in the first place. Granted, he did, and that's a knock on him, but if his teammates did their job (i.e.: the defense on a hail mary), Peyton never throws the pick and they win the game.

Another example when he was with the Colts. I forget what year and who he was playing, but on a 4th down in the 4th quarter, Peyton threw a perfect pass to Dallas Clark. Clark dropped it. No conversion, turnover on downs, opponent runs out the clock and the Colts lose. Peyton didn't lose that game - he made the play on his end. Dallas didn't.

I also can't overlook the factor that when Peyton was injured, the Colts went to 2-14, worst team in the league, #1 pick. Granted, Luck has them back to respectability, but they still aren't where they were before Peyton.

On the flip side, Denver is a mediocre team that won a division on the merits of being the AFC West. Peyton comes in, and then they are one of the best teams in football.

That kind of impact can't be overlooked.

On the flip side, Tom Brady goes out with injury, Pats still go 11-5 (or was it 10-6?) and barely miss the playoffs due to the extremely competitive AFC that season.

Brady is great, no doubt, all time top 3 probably. But I don't see him having the same impact that Peyton does.

It should be an instant death penalty when you hurt/kill a child.

You know Peterson is about to beast this weekend if he plays.

Do we know what sort of involvement (if any) the mother had in this?

The attorney's for the mom's boyfriend will try to get involuntary manslaughter. Peterson's attorney's are going to want first degree murder.

I read she wasn't even home. The man who assaulted the child called the police saying he was choking on something.

The mother may not be able to be charged, but Peterson and many others will question her leaving her son with that man. But that's a whole other issue entirely.

Lynn Swann is in the HOF. Someone on the HOF committee said if they just used his regular season numbers, it'd be a long shot for him to get in and it's his performance on the greatest stage that got him in.

It's the same case for Eli, although his performance this year isn't doing him any favors. He's still could do 40-50k yards with 300 TDs not to mention how many continuous games he plays. But I know if he does get in, it'd be for his post season efforts. It would help his case if he could add some additional pro bowl years to his resume. He's at 3 right now.
