Look at how lack luster Thor 2's marketing was compares to IM3's, now that type of stuff is only going to continue.
The movie is doing fine and you are getting a sequel.

So is this an admittance they haven't taken him seriously yet?

I meant as far as marketing and his limited role in The Avengers.

This movie was more serious than IM3 IMO. No kids no armor being recharged off a car battery and lots more.

I have to agree. Expect an even smaller role in Avengers 2.

Yikes!! lol Well, Thor is definitely going to outgross Iron Man and Iron Man 2 worldwide. It's not a juggernaut like Iron Man 3 but that's not exactly awful. I think Thor is important to Marvel but Iron Man has the secret RDJ factor. I think you are looking at the glass half empty.

EDIT: They did shaft Thor in The Avengers and I like Hemsworth performance so that annoyed me as well.

Dude Thor TDW is better than IM3. It's not the perfect Thor movie that we have in our heads but it was a good movie. Seriously. WB took MOS ultra serious and the RT score is in the 50% critics hate it and its got a roten. That doesn't phase me.

Yo, chill BigThor. It's only at 66%, which is still fresh. It's gonna make good money. Now, admittedly, yeah, Marvel screwed up the editing, and especially sucked giving the Earth-based characters more to do than the Warriors Three. It was a let down to me, personally, but it's not bad. If you wanna see mistreatment, check out the Hulk. No sequel, you *could* retcon TIH out of the MCU if you really wanted to, you'll be fine. Just take a chill pill dude.

But at least they gave Hulk his due in the Avengers, and it was awesome!
And they mentioned more than once he's getting even more time in Age of Ultron.
Thor, on the other hand...

I still don't get it. Hulk got Hulk 2003 and TIH. People where going to leave Hulk for dead. Superman got Superman II, III, IV, and SR and the same was said for him. The first Thor was enjoyable and TDW was even better. Thor isn't even in a bad position.

Because TIH wasn't released at the right time, nor was it marketed any good. I honestly think they should have saved it for 2009. Now on Hulk 03, I liked it, but the misunderstood movie left a bad taste in people's mouths. They need to make a movie with the heart of Ang, but the fun of TIH.

People take the RT scores and other ratings waaaay too seriously. The so called "film critics" are not the deity they think they are.

Hell, even classics films were not well reviewed at the time. Their perspective sometimes isn't the same as ours. Most of them don't even have a clue how a mid 20's or 30's guy feels when one of his childhood heroes is on the big screen. It all comes to subjectivity and how you decide to enjoy a certain film. I don't get affected by the score, I will enjoy it or not because of the movie itself, not because some fresh or rotten tomato icon.
It does, however, measure the way the movie is perceived in other general media, and that may or may not affect a possible sequel. We know that's not the case with Thor, but it does apply to other movies.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, people shouldn't bother too much about the score, or use it for arguments. You like or don't like the movie because of your own reasons, not because some algorithm says it.

This is the worst MCU film for me. When I watched the film, it was still in the mid 80s and I thought this film deserved a rating lower than the first Thor movie. 66% is quite reasonable for this film. Its not as bad as Man of Steel but its not great either.

As a Thor fan, I don't understand how you could be disappointed with Thor: The Dark World. It kicked ass.

I just hope it makes enough money to have a sequel with a big enough budget to bring Beta Ray Bill and Surtur to the big screen.

Who cares about Rotten Tomatoes? It's a neat little badge and all if the numbers fall in your favor but clearly after the way the score for Man of Steel turned out, the system is broken. Why do I need someone else to tell me what I like?
