Between Stewart, McKellen, Jackman, McAvoy and Fassbender I can't see this movie being bad, unless the writing is THAT horrid.
Hopefully Simon Kinberg has improved his writing skills since the 2011 critically panned film, This is War.

I wonder when someone will edit the video with "time" in it.

This trailer is okay, and I have high hopes for the movie. But I think Cap 2 has a better trailer by comparison.

I'm not a big fan of Cap 2's trailer but I have to say the trailer of Cap 2's trailer looked more polished compare to DOFP's trailer. And I prefer the lighting/hue of Cap 2.

It's better than the first trailer to The Dark Knight Rises at least. That one felt more rushed. But it's not quite the mature trailer that something like the new Captain America had. Too bad I don't care about Captain America though.

The DoFP trailer is satisfying enough for now. Lots of character reactions and angst. Not much in the way of wide establishing shots or special effects moments. Without the Sentinels being shown it was doomed in some critics corners from the start.

I think for a teaser trailer it did what it's supposed to. Next trailer will probably be in February. That one will have all the money shots.

I get what you're saying. This is Singer though so I doubt it will be larger than life.

The fact I don't any scene in the trailer has more than 3 main characters on screen at any point is characteristic of Singer. He loves to divide up the characters.

I think we should keep in mind the color timing for the movie isn't done yet. You'll often see it change from the first trailer to the last trailer to the final movie. One thing I've learned since TDKR days.

Possibly, but maybe they should have waited if that's the case. Cap 2 is pretty much on the same timeline as was much more effective imo.

Cap2's trailer pretty much showed the film's major action sequences, the hellicarrier crashing, Winter Soldier attacking Nick Fury's car, Winter Soldier vs Cap, Black Widow in action, etc... The only action sequence that we really got in the future period in the trailer is Storm releasing electricity through her hands, there's barely action with Rogue/Iceman/Magneto running and the other shorter clips. DOFP barely showcased its action pieces.

Not saying "Sunshine" is bad or anything, but it felt a little off at some scenes in the teaser.
I'm 90% sure Time was not used at all, and the theme used towards the end of the trailer was Journey to the Line - Hans Zimmer from The Thin Red Line OST. It's a common mistake since they sound similar and it's the same composer.

And frankly, when you have so many many phenomenal actors in one feature film...I couldn't care less about the action scenes in a teaser trailer.

Although Cap2's trailer was well-made, the trailer is far more conventional than this film's teaser. I like that they focussed more on the tone of the film than the action set pieces. For that reason, it reminded me of some great film trailers (like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) which did a similar thing.

You are correct, but they edited Journey to the Line in such away to very closely mimic the sound that so memorably accompanied the cut to black at the end of Inception.

That shot of Colossus running and punching something looks awesome! Think he is just swatting a fly though personally, thats how they do it in Russia .

Hope we get some real Colossus goodness this as he didnt do anything in X3 of note.

Actually the comic con trailer above was a lot more powerful by using the inception time score throught out the trailer specially at beginning. The timing of each each fits the score perfectly thats why it got the praises it rightly deserved. Its a lot more affective to a continueal score at the background rather and two conjointed score I just blame the guy who edit the trailer

I actually was quite pleased with the trailer. As I said in the other thread, this clip was fairly balanced. It was definitely character heavy and while I would've loved to have seen more SFX (i.e. with Sentinels, etc.,) those of us who have been here on SHH since 2003 know that the first Singer X-Men trailers are ALWAYS simple and character driven. We go through this cycle every time. It's the follow-up official trailers that will knock everyone on their asses.

For me, I got a somewhat warm, fuzzy...almost nostalgic feeling seeing Hugh, Halle, Patrick, Ian, Shawn, Ellen and Anna on screen together. It just felt right. And of course the stunning First Class actors being in the mix makes for a very interesting visual too.

I think it's gonna be fine.
