However, if the movie ends up being close to 2.5 hrs, then it won't be that bad I guess.
Let's just wait and see. The trailer today will give us some indication of its direction.

Still, I have too much faith in Singer to see him screw this up...even if he's had a rocky road since he left the franchise in '05.

The cast alone is enough to know that it'll be a decent watch by themselves. If he delivers on the action in a way the previous never could, then we'll be in for a real treat come next May.

And the fact that the future scenes will showcase more characters/mutants (Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto, Storm, Iceman, Rogue, Shadowcat, Colossus, Bishop, Sunspot, Blink, Warpath) makes me think whether these characters except for Wolverine/ProfessorX/Magneto will get enough screentime and character development.

But I expected this 70/30 share before, so I'm not really surprised by this.

And what we've been hearing is that the film is fantastic, so I wouldn't break out the stopwatch and get all technical about the runtime. Early word is good enough to be excited about it.

I don't get the issue with the movie not being mostly set in the future. Why would the movie mostly be set in the future? You prevent the messed up future by going into the past and stopping some kinda catastrophic event. Was Terminator lame because most of it was set in the present at the time? The answer is no.

Well, Terminator didn't have a gazillion characters, including some big fan favourites, in its future scenes.

Like I said, I'm happy that the film is mostly set in the 70s, but the future does look somewhat overcrowded, with 40-something minutes to deal with the amount of characters who could easily fill up a 2 hour movie all by themselves.

I don't see it working in just 128min. I just don't want too short scenes in this movie like in TLS. With so many characters in 2 periods of time, DOFP story + fixing some continuity things, it has to be half hour longer -> 158min.

,,could return and leave the world in an even darker place"
For me it means all movies with history after 1973 can be erased, and we can have AOA at end of DOFP movie.

2023? It doesn't fix, but mess even more. Now some characters are 15-20 years older than we see them at screen if all movies counts. Just wait to see movie in May, how Bryan is going to explain it all. 128min now definitely isn't enough.

Its kinda funny how we have a huge cast and there are still other mutants appearing we are yet to find out, it's like singer saw the avengers and said pfftt 8 characters that's nothing

Does fall into that trap of what singer said he wouldn't do, throw in dozens of characters just because he can
