As much as I loved MOS, there is a strong contingent out there that has very strong feelings about it and have no confidence in the creative team doing Superman AND Batman in one film.

I think the surprise factor has something to do with it too. People didn't see this coming.

Well, Batfleck has put a huge damper on this for me. I don't think he's going to be horrible or anything, but... I'm still not seeing it, nor does he make a good match/contrast to HC in a visual aesthetic sense. Maybe I'll be proven wrong. Only time will tell.

I'd say that Bafleck definitely upped the excitement for me.

The fact that you have places like variety and sites that have a good track record reporting this stuff tells me its not just rumors but is probably true . Fandom has been thrown curve. balls with this project the whole time so its not out of the realm to think that WW and Nightwing are gonna be in it. The fact we are hearing actual names for parts also tells me that there is at least something to the reports. Now it could all turn out to be false but I find it unlikely at this point that these are all just false rumors floating around.

And after the way Snyder and Co. established his level of power in MOS I just don't think that he's going to have the spotlight taken from him in this new Universe. Batman is cool, but the audience will not buy Batman as the center of a cinematic universe that has threats greater in scope than freaks with a gimmick. Alternate Universe dopplegangers, White Martians, Evil Cosmic Gods... What ever the threat, they've established in MOS that Superman is the guy with the necessary power to deal with those kind of things. BatGod is great in the comics, and surely I want to see a more competent Bats on screen. But I think the idea of Batman jujitsuing Darkseid is a no go for this new DCCU. I have no fear about Superman being sidelined or overshadowed.
I hope that too.. but not sidelined batman either... Both will be great IMO

Excuse me but, how the heck do you know they are not using this opportunity to make a "good movie"? Holy cow.....mind numbing.

What I meant was that I worry they'll focus on adding characters to gain interest just for interest's sake, rather than just try to make a good movie and hope it makes money. And I said I worry about this, not that I know it to be the case. I didn't mean that they're mutually exclusive. And notice I'm being polite with you right now, so please show me the same. There's no need for the "mind numbing" etc.

Batman next to Superman would just look so much better if Batman was in the Grey and Blue or Black.

I mean was he told?

Hmm, good question. I don't think he was ever told. So I guess he wouldn't know.

1) I find cameos to be a cheap gimmick and distracting. Captain America showing up was one of the dumbest parts of Thor 2 for me.
2) I prefer depth to breadth. I prefer fewer core characters in movies, most of the time. Gravity and Rush are my two favourite movies of 2013.
3) I hated the justice league cartoon and found it super-boring relative to STAS and BTAS.

I for one am being consistent in not liking what is confirmed for this movie nor what is rumoured for this movie.

When do you guys think we'll get first pics from this production aside from the metro vs Gotham football game?

Hmm... Now that I think about it, neither the Jor-el AI or Zod tell Kal-el this on camera. That being said, I guess Jor-el could have told Superman at some point during his "training" in the Arctic. The film's timeline is on the fuzzy side. It's not firmly established how much time passes from the moment Clark drops Lois off on that ice flow to when they meet again at the military base is. Jor-el could have told him a lot of things we don't see.
