He also voiced Gnomeo in Gnomeo and Juliet...and Patrick Stewart was a talking Shakespeare statue. :woot:

That's a lot of Brown (even McAvoy brought it up at Comic-con!). Where is this pic from?

They look groovy, even though poor Charles probably isn't feeling too groovy inside.

I've said it and I'll say again, James and Hugh together for more than five seconds in a film will be my absolute high in 2014.

Even after First Class, it's still so strange to me that James is in an X-Men film, and playing such a significant character at that.

A lot of my favorite actors have come from X-films, but James is the first actor whom I adored before an x-men film. So bizarre to me. Haha.

I was so excited when I learned that my favorite actor would be part of my favorite franchise and superhero team! I would have been kind of disappointed if he went DC, lol.

I just saw Trance and really liked it. He did a great job, gets intense. Very versatile actor.

Danny Boyle always does a fantastic job, as did Rosario Dawson on getting naked...twice!

Mcavoy really sold it, for a character who in the end is a pretty bad dude he gave the character alot of depth and many different personalities that were still believable, so you never knew what to believe. He made it tough not to route for him in the end. Def one of my favorite actors and one of the main reasons I'm looking forward to DOFP.

Here come the Men in Brown!

I've got mixed feelings about Trance, definitely glad I saw it but I thought that by the end the whole movie became a tad overwrought. And James' character never really felt believable to me - not because of James' acting but because I felt that some of the reveals about Simon were more about springing surprises on the audience than developing a character. Plus for me that movie was one of the rare occasions when I could feel no chemistry between James and his leading lady.

Sure, I think they we were definitely springing alot of surprises on the character. The script tries very hard to keep you off base so that may feel a bit forced. But honestly, that is why I liked it. Danny Boyle was always keeping it interesting and fast paced. I liked keeping up with the whole feel of the film, not exactly knowing where it was going. Especially in a time where thrillers feel pretty boring in general and bland . I could see that POV though.

But I thought his performance was excellent, regardless of the story twists and surprises. So I disagree with you there. I think alot of reasons there was some funky chemistry going on was because Dawson needed her performance to have a cautious attitude with Mcavoys character. I bought it.

I don't know how I missed it at first viewing but, just noticed that Xavier's jacket is cut in half (i'd imagine to fit better while siting down)

it doesn't even look like a clean cut (as if it was custom made) it looks almsot like it was just ripped in half

I like what's "forced" about Trance too, that the characters and situations never felt too real. In a way, it reminded me of films from the "film noir" era, when there was supposed to be a suspension of disbelief regarding the characters' motivations and actions. To add to that atmosphere there's the surreal, dreamlike (or more like nightmarish) touches by Boyle. And using the Goya painting as a motif was pivotal, because this is how Trance should be preceived, I think, more as an allegory than reality. I think it's a fascinating film.

James was brilliant, as was Rosario. Vincent had a less complex character, but he's a compelling actor to watch. All in all, loved the acting in it; how the characters had different facets to them, and how the actors should portray them. It was so good.

I can just picture Wolverine's reaction to seeing Young Xavier "really, this loser turns into the professor." I hope they bring up Wolverine's "comment" to Xavier and Erik in FC, one of them should remember it.

I'd like to see young Xavier's reaction to finding old he's bald in the future lol

Wolverine - "your Xavier? sorry, wasn't expecting so much hair"
young Xavier - "it's worst then I feared, I go bald don't I?"

lol

Agreed, especially on the bolded. Loved the feel of the flick. Definitely a twisted dream vibe.
