Oh I didn't even know such a movement existed!

He probably would look better with some more weight to him though. The new Magneto armour makes him look bigger and I prefer that look for him.

Arg the discussion is still about his waist?

Does anyone think it's kind of odd to end First Class with Magneto becoming a villain and starting this one with him possibly out of commission? They must have a lot of back story. Erik helping Charles build Cerebro off screen would be a nice bit of dialogue too. I don't really like the idea of Erik in another plastic prison. It would seem as if Bryan is rehashing some ideas from X2 but with a twist like Mystique attacking what appears to be the White House.

Yeah, some details are starting to feel a bit repetitive to me... But hopefully in the movie they arent noticed at all, and the main plots revolve around something else

I doudt there was any contact between Xavier and Magneto In over 10 years
between end of first class and past of DOFP.If there Is a building of cerebro In film It would likely be after Magneto Is freed from prison.

They have already said things In DOFP will reference other films In series.

Well maybe after the Cerebro exploded, Magneto will fix it.

I don't mind another plastic prison, because young!Erik is pretty much a different character and I'm sure his escape will be different to X2 as well.

I wonder what he's been doing for the 10 years in between. I'm getting an impression that in DoFP he only starts to commit hostile public acts, so would he have been lying low in the years before that?

I'll bet Magneto slipped through the cell bars because of his thin waist, so they had to build him that plastic prison.

Well we know now why Matthew Vaughn Is getting story credit on film. His idea of magneto being responable for assassination of JFK by using his powers to
create the magic bullet.

well it could also be someone set up Magneto. The viral website makes you think that is a possibility.

Freakin' awesome. Looks like they're incorporating the original idea they had for the FC sequel. Though in the original, Magneto IS the culprit. In this case, with how I think the plot has evolved, I'm pretty sure he was framed.

Yeah it looks like the Friends of Humanity set him up. If you read the article it said Kennedy was going to make a big speech about mutants, and the Friends of humanity were calling Kennedy a traitor. They probably hired Oswald and had Ruby kill him. I wonder if Friends of Humanity are going to be the big badies in the film.

And his mugshot shows he was arrested on 02-04-64.

So he's been in prison since then up to 1973?

The plot thickens!

My guess is Project WideAwake/the CIA, although friends of Humanity and the Purifiers could be connected. It probably started as a wing of anti-mutant agents in the CIA/military who knew about their existence after Division X and who wanted to take a hard line against them.

Stryker started the Purifiers in the comics so that could be a connection there.

Sometimes I'm not a fan of mixing real events with fiction (I rolled my eyes at the space race involving the Transformers) but I always liked the idea of Magneto causing the magic bullet. Glad to see it's being used.

I like historical fiction if it's done well. Bay screwed up pretty much everything about Transformers, so the whole Moon Landing thing is no exception. I LOVED the whole "Hellfire Club orchestrating the Cuban Missile Crisis" plot line from FC.

This new viral site is interesting. But honestly, I don't like that they are mixing Magneto into this JFK assassination event. Hopefully they won't mention/show it that much in the actual film.

Yeah, especially because Kennedy is generally a well-loved and iconic president. His portrait can still be seen in some American households, and for some people who can't separate reality from fiction, the idea that Magneto (the "cool" one) did it will surely be an "issue", lol.

Personally though, I believe BOTH Magneto and Mystique are innocent. Kennedy was a liberal and apparently pro-mutant, so there's no reason for Erik to do it or to order anyone to do so. I'm pretty sure Magneto was trying to stop the bullet after the first shot was heard, and then likely got sabotaged by someone (a telepath messing with his head? Wanda-like powers? A telekinetic?). Anyway, it altered the trajectory of the bullet.

I think Magneto chose to turn himself in so that everyone would finally know about mutants once and for all, and then denied the crime and pointed his fingers at Mystique because he knew that with her abilities, she would never be caught anyway.

I'm pretty sure the truth of the killing will remain as it is as we know it here in the real world. Meaning, the "real" masterminds unknown and the "magic bullet" remaining a mystery.

Yeah, I'm pretty mixed on the whole JFK / Magneto thing given all the documentaries and memorials this past week. Then again, that's why they released the viral now. Seems kinda iffy for me personally but it drums up controversy and buzz for the film.

I just hope they are doing this for online-hype. The viral site is cool and interesting but eh I don't want to watch DOFP next year and I ask myself whether if Magneto or Mystique killed JFK, the movie isn't even about it. I just hope they are just doing to maintain hype.

I don't think magneto did it but it would be fascinating if he did. He would evolve him as a character and as a villain
