Looks like it has closed domestically but Japan will add to the WW take starting Feb 1st...We should see the total take around 645 Million when all is said and done.
Damn Impressive...

It's not closed yet, but will close soon I wager since the Blu-ray is around the corner late February.

I assumed it had closed since Box office Mojo has not updated its count since last Thursday on its daily and total numbers on the domestic front..
Oh well, 2 more weeks and I can watch it from the comfort of home...

It's still playing where I'm at, sometimes B.O.M. can be pokey but they are caught up now. T:TDW is only at 185 theaters currently.

I don't get why it stays longer in some places.

Same here, TDW was gone after about a month in my area, yet I have seen movies that made basically nothing nationally as well as locally hang around for nearly 2 months at my local theatre's..
Strange...
Must have had to make room for all the new 3D releases which of course require a 2D showing as well..at least I got to see it twice on the big screen...
I wonder what the rescheduled release of Batman vs Superman to 2016 will do if anything for the scheduling of Thor 3..

I was wondering the same thing about the DC movie now conflicting with the Marvel release in May 2016. Would hate to see Thor have to compete against that in the same weekend! Ironman 4 would fair better.
I'm guessing DC wants to see if Marvel will blink.

Yeah that's definently why it went from one Maco multiplex to mine. Both are in the same town but Like I've said, the one I guard NORMALLY doesn't do the 3D shows, just 2d.

Yep, I'm extremely happy with TDW's WW numbers. To end up right behind MOS when it all said and done is a tremendous success considering where Thor came from.
Now I'm all excited for the first week in Feb when we get the digital download from Vudu or Amazon.....can't wait!!!!!

Been keeping an eye out on the digital download options and hopefully they will offer a Special edition with the extras..
They did that with The Conjuring , but so far they are offering only the 3D and 2D downloads, no extras at the moment..
Will let you know if I see any changes..
Marvel and Taylor really raised the bar with Thor in TDW and Whedon will raise it even further in AOU.
Its a great time to be a Thor fan...

RDJ signed on to do Avengers 2 and 3. He is under no obligation for Iron Man 4, and as I recall, he didn't want to do an Iron Man 4 because those are more taxing on him than Avengers films are (he suffered an injury making IM3). Highly doubt this happens. More likely, Marvel moves their film they were going to release.

Don't think he ever said that, but many rumors hinted at it, and even the announcement he was coming back to play Stark said he would play him in Avengers 2 and 3. No mention of Iron Man 4, and it was only a 2 film deal as reported. That suggests to me that the rumors are true. RDJ DID however say this (took this quote from screenrant):

Quote:

“[The injury] got me thinking about how big the message from your cosmic sponsor needs to be before you pick it up. How many genre movies can I do? How many follow-ups to a successful follow-up are actually fun? Because, as quiet as it’s kept, I come from a family of very innovative writers and directors and actors and artists, and the circle of friends they were in were the people I heard having pun-offs playing poker at two in the morning, and it was just the most comforting aspect of my childhood. So there’s this kind of legacy of souls from what I consider to be a very particular time in entertainment, and I’m sensing a return to that—it’s what me and the missus are doing next. It’s not unlike: I heard Brady signed on for three more years with New England, and then he’s done being a QB, because he’ll be 40. I’m 47, and I’ll be 50.”
Here is the press release on Marvel.com:

Quote:
Under the two-picture agreement, Downey will star as Tony Stark/Iron Man in “Marvel’s The Avengers 2” and “Marvel’s The Avengers 3.” Downey is represented at CAA by Bryan Lourd, Jim Toth and Matt Leaf and by his attorneys Tom Hansen and Stewart Brookman of the firm Hansen Jacobson.

That is straight from Marvel.com, so while he may never have SAID I will never do Iron Man 4 publicly, I think evidence points to it not happening with RDJ.

Not bad, honestly...especially considering the movie was only made for $20 million more than the first. I'd say the numbers show quite a big increase in interest towards Thor.
