That's what they were saying but they've called holding on CBs on the other end of the field before. I don't understand this logic.

If I was Brady I would be pissed too, that's a ****ing BS way to end the game. This is two games ref determine the end of a game.

The ball would have landed behind Kechley even if it wasn't caught. There was still a man standing beside Groff the entire time.

He was also pissed because they threw a flag and took it back.

I don't blame brady it looked to me that was Obvious Pass Interference he should be mad about that call and then the Refs just pick the Flag up and say the Game is OVER. I would be pissed to.

I am confused. Some say it was catchable. Some say it wasn't. Dilfer and Young say it was. The other man (forgot his name, the retired referee) said it wasn't.

That was clearly pass interference. Refs have it in for the Pats this year.
If you feel that way, just think about the 'tuck rule', that should bring you joy.

It wasn't catchable because Gronk was hugged and pushed out of the way he never had a chance to come back for that ball.

So what you are telling me is a defender can hold a receiver and prevent him from making his route as long as the ball is uncatchable??? If it's not pass interference it would have been illegal contact.

Oh please, get over it. That's like Yankee fans who are like "oh yeah we have 28 championships it doesn't matter!" every time they have a bad year. It hasn't nothing to do with now. The tuck rule has nothing to do with what happened tonight. I'm not even a Patriots fan, it was just an awesome game and I hated it had to end that way.

What route? The ball was on Kechley's side. You think he was just going to reach around him and catch the ball?

From the current rule book
DEFENSIVE HOLDING
Article 6 Defensive Holding. It is defensive holding if a player grasps an eligible offensive player (or his jersey) with his
hands, or extends an arm or arms to cut off or encircle him. See 12-1-6.
Penalty: For holding by the defense: Loss of five yards and automatic first down.

Section 5 Pass Interference
DEFINITION
Article 1 Definition. It is pass interference by either team when any act by a player more than one yard beyond the line of
scrimmage significantly hinders the progress of an eligible receiver’s opportunity to catch the ball.

Ahhh, so it was pass interference. Ball should have been placed on the 1 yard line. Automatic first down. That sucks.

Either way, it wasn't my team. No skin off my back.

It was holding, but if a ball is under thrown or overthrown the refs won't call it. You can't just throw a ball in the area and expect to get a call.

Sucks it was on the last play but those are the facts.

It's crazy that we will probably have THREE 12-4 teams in the ****ing WILDCARD spot this year (Denver/Kansas City, Saints/Panthers, San Francisco).

This makes every single game between those 5 teams more and more significant. Man, I love the second half of the season. The urgency is crazy.

But the PI call is off cause his progress was going forward with Kechley.

The Panther who caught the ball caught it bending almost to the ground. Gronk would have had to stop, change direction, and slide down around two Panthers.

Dude isn't magic.

The point can be argued that if Gronk wasn't held, he could have leaped forward and caught the ball while landing on the ground. He is 6' 5'' and has done it plenty of times. Nevertheless, it was a judgment call. The refs at least could have explained it to the Patriots instead of just abruptly ending the game. I feel for them for being angry about that.
