If the earlier rumors about the suit being dark grey and what not are true, it sounds a lot like the new 52 suit.

I think that's in keeping with the supposed mention of Jim Lee by Kevin Smith.

I will be very curious to see how they pull off this gray and black suit. I think it will be either the coolest looking thing, or something not that cool looking at all.

Can't say I disagree. The BB suit was awesome for "pose" shots, but looked awkward in motion. The TDK suit had great mobility but was too... something for my tastes. I cannot pin it down but the TDK suit was, I don't know... It was trying too hard, maybe?

I actually like the TDK suit and thought it looked great actually in TDKR. I think the main criticisms come from the legs design which I admit are too busy but from the waist up I thought it was quite well done overall.

Yeah. I think B89 was one of my favorite suits for just pure look, but it was so bulky and slowed Keaton down a ton.

BB was pretty good, but again, too puffy. And it always bugged me that Nolan didn't darken the friggen Batsymbol! TDK's design was not one I was fond of at all, but it looked by far the best in motion.

So it would be nice to see something that looks great and allows the actor to not be ridiculously restricted for once.

That crotch bulge though. It looks like Batman stores his spare tennis balls there.

People exaggerate that element a lot. 90% of the "bad shots" people post here of the suit are from behind the scenes production shots or random freeze frame moments. I'd say overall in motion and the way it was mostly shot it looked good. There was maybe one or 2 scenes in TDK where it looked somewhat off.

I'm not saying the TDK suit was perfect but it's become way too trendy here to just blindly insult it. Imo it is the best batman suit on film so far.

That's a good shot of the TDK(R) suit, but to me it still looks inherently silly. The notion that all this practically justified segmentation coincidentally looks somewhat like a muscular human torso seems somehow dishonest. And what was the thinking with the "can you spot it?" Batsymbol? That's absurd from the perspectives both of design and functionality.

Fans *****ed about Snyder giving Supes a big bulge but right there in that shot, Nolan has given Batman a much bigger bulge. But somehow, everything Nolan did seemed to have gotten a free pass.

I liked what they did on certain Batman Begins action figures. The overall suit was a nice flat black, but the logo was a gloss black, it provided just enough of a contrast that it stood out from the rest of the suit.

Myself , I don't actually hate it, I was just highly disappointed that was the direction Nolan went with it.

Funny how one of the best shots of the TDK(R) suit is one where two thirds of the suit are hidden by the cape.

I like more the TDKR suit than the TDK, even tho they supposedly are the same.
Illumination maybe??

But yes, Im very exited at the prospect of a grey batsuit.

I get that you don't like it, but c'mon. Having the cape draped over him is classic batman scenery. If you want to criticize the TDK(R) suit, I'm sure you can find other reasons than it actually looking like Batman in a pic. And for that matter, the beloved 89 batsuit was PERMANENTLY two thirds covered by the cape, so I don't see what your complaint is.

I don't think your response really addresses what Shikamaru said.

He wasn't saying that it was a bad thing to see Batman enveloped in his cape; he was implying that this was the only way that the TDK(R) suit looked good.

Yes, but that seems like a backhanded compliment which doesn't make much sense to me considering that the 89' suit, which seems to be well liked here, was covered by the cape in every shot. That's the way the suit was designed. Apologies if I am misunderstanding something.
