Yeah, I don't see how anyone sees this episode was entertaining or exciting.

Same old;
-'kill someone somewhat important just because it's a "finale"'
-boring gunfight where no one hits anything unless it's a zombie or a 'bad guy'
-cliffhanger that will lead to nothing but wasted television hours (Judith/group split)
-Rick being a chump, Carl... is more badass than he is.

Meh... I'm always going to watch it so there's no point to fight towards me about that crap but come on, how do you make such a wonderful story month to month... so boring, contrived, and blah week to week?

Also, if I see one more person compare this episode to BrBa or a GOT episode... you can walk off a cliff.

And, one "good" episode out of 8 (while also being something we should have got last year and now 7 episodes late) is pretty weak sauce.

No one gets hit? Bob was shot!

Carl being more badass? I didn't see him get in a fist fight with the Gov. (Or anything badass Rick has done in 4 seasons.)

Daryl was in full on badass mode in that shootout, just chalking up the kills both dead and undead!

Looking at the promo for the second half of the season it looks like we will be jumping around all over the place following the splintered mini groups.

Yeah, I don't see them all reuniting until maybe the end of the season. I'm not even sure when Abraham is supposed to make his entrance.

To give it the illusion of being 3D, I think.

I really loved in this last episode when

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
The Governor never hesitated to shoot Meghan(kinda saw it coming when he told Michonne that he realized his daughter was dead that whole time). It really showed how far he's come from all of that.

I can't speak for anyone else but my heart was pounding the entire episode even though I pretty much knew what would happen to Hershel. So I find it thrilling.

Gimple on the second half of the season:

Quote:
Season three moved at a breakneck pace, but season four was more of a slower, character exploration. Will the back half of season four have the same pacing as the first eight episodes?

The back half of the season has a wildly different structure to it. It's a very different set of stories, and it's very unlike the first half of the season. I can't say without giving stuff up, but it's very different. The same story priorities apply; there's a lot of character exploration but in a very different way. In some ways, the story moves quicker but in a really different manner. As soon as you see the first episode, you'll figure out why and how. Episode 10 [the second one in February] has a super unusual structure that I'm very excited for people to see. It's very different than the first half.

So flashbacks?

Kind of!

I'm rehashing something that should be obvious here but the first half of this season was kind of a proper re-telling of the poorly executed season 3 with Woodbury. The showdown at the prison really needed to be done right and it wasn't last time so there was some necessary retreading with the story to get us back on track. That was needed in order for the Governor to assault the prison with a tank, rendering both the prison and the group apart.

As well as showing the depravity of the Governor and the necessity to kill off a major member of the group to show they aren't going to wimp out on killing as needed.

Worth it though IMO. Now it can get into the more recent storyline with the scattered members of the Prison reforming.
