Damn, everytime I see the nu52 costume with pants a tear drops out of my eyes. Why couldn't they just have kept it that way?!

^They don't know what they're doing anymore. Most of the New52 costumes look questionable nowadays. Snyder could make better costumes, I think.

I don't understand. Is the pic Roach posted a toy designed on the 52 costume?

Because a lot of fanboys/girls threw grade-A hissy fits when JMS DARED to give her pants in his run.

When the people that are buying your comics are complaining it's best to listen.

^ Please. People whined about the New 52 Supes costume and its lack of trunks and collar. Pro-Lois people whined about Supes/Wondy. And they're still there. The difference here is what? I bet we all know but won't say.

What was the complaint Roach? Do you remember? I'm curious as to why fans complained. Also, when DC nixed Supes trunks there was outrage, but they still held the line. What was the difference for Wondy?

No, most of the complaints that I saw fell into one of two categories:
1. It wasn't her "iconic" outfit and was somehow disrespectful to her character.
2. People who maybe were ok with the idea of her possibly wearing pants were "prudes."

not as much as they complained about the pants.

I agree. Costume wise Snyder always does a good job. Even his biggest detractors agree on that.

I still love this

Send the pic to Sung Kang.
Your odds are higher if he retweets the pic....that is how she saw the other fan pic.

Doubtful. And what were their complaints? Why would people complain that a female character was more covered up? Hmmmm.

Could it be that the pants changed her beyond what she should look like? Hardly. Look at that side by side picture posted of the two looks. So I wonder why? Could it be the "sex sells" notion? Surely not. Were they worried that their sales of a character that is supposed to be a female empowerment icon would be lower because she had pants? I wonder who they are really targeting.

I don't know. I wasn't one of the complainers. I was just mentioned the fact that if you put out a product, then change it and people complain about the change it's sometimes in the best interest of that company to revert to what was working...aka The New Coke Paradigm.

I get what you mean. And that is the case sometimes.

At other times, it's better to stick to your guns. Especially if there are social implications. People can more easily adapt to changes in superhero costumes than to other product changes.

Giving her pants is disrespectful? That might be hyperbolic nerd speak for "She doesn't give me my jollies anymore!" or "Change is the devil!" I don't know for sure though.
I just hope Snyder and his team try harder and really think it through.

This isn't too bad, I'd like the skirt just a bit longer, but other than that, it's a pretty decent costume.

Thanks! That sound strangely familiar to some recent arguments I've heard here at the Hype...lol

Change is the devil for most comic fans. I still hate Supes collar, for a movie I prefer Wondy have pants or the skirt like the one I posted above.
