.
And then they are getting the 3rd? the one you argued many times would be an OT film

I would say its likely they are bringing them back to conclude the original OT storyline, with them going in a different direction after this film it's better to wrap up things in the OT with the characters, and you can argue and say that's not the case but would you rather they conclude the story with only 3 OT cast? Xavier, magneto, wolverine? It's very clear they want apocalypse to not be a prequel to the OT

It's also as someone said for the particular story, they obviously wanted mutants in the future battling for their lives so why wouldn't the add known cast to that, if it wasn't them it would likely have been other mutants similar to what they did In TAS where the future scene only contained wolverine the only survivor and some newbies

In the end the reason we are getting a FC Sequel that has the FC cast is because it was so well received compared to the 2 previous movies, and many had given up on the franchise till They watched FC whether cinema or at home (alot at home) and it had a lot going against it, it had a new cast, new characters and a fresh setup that people had to adjust too without its golden boy wolverine who had been in every X-men movie to date and the movie was also coming off a badly received xmen movie so everyone was all doom and gloom about the franchise after that, and you can say how different origins and FC are but they both still contained the title X-Men which was either going to be seen as being fun movies or a downward spiral

The OT cast are all over the promation of DOFP

Things scream of them doing DOFP to help box office by having the OT cast In

Apocalypse may be a gamble if It Only has the FC big 4+newbees to franchise.
Preach!

No way. The unfamiliarity with the FC cast wont be an issue, the lack of A-list X-Men characters wont be an issue, and scope/scale wont be an issue. Plus it will undoubtedly be getting a boost from DOFP(unless it sucks).

Overall, Singer is trying to respect as much as posible the whole franchise (including X3 and XMW)... so... are we going to see a bald McAvoy in XM:A? It was the mature Patrick Stewart´s version that recruited Jean and Cyclops. And honest truth, IMO, McAvoy is a GREAT, AWESOME young Charles... but I don´t see him as the bald version we all know and love until 15 years or so...

He really should be bald when recruiting Scott and Jean, but McAvoy seems convinced that the hair loss will need to be caused by a dramatic incident so he'll probably lose it during the course of the film.

Pretty much certain the hair will be gone by the end of the film either way though right?

you mean DOFP? or XM:A?

I read somewhere (not confirmed) that he indeed filmed a couple of scenes bald... it will look pretty awkard to me in case it happens... specially if we have a young Jean and Scott, but he as well looking young as heck... It looks pretty off on my mind :S

given the amount of hair mcavoy has in DOFP yeah it probably would have to be something major that makes him lose his hair, he certainly isn't balding

in a recent interview mcavoy made it sound like he is still waiting to find out and almost sounded confused why he still had hair lol, it could have been a cover up but i dunno, and as you say he said it would have to be more a dramatic incident then old age hair loss

His baldness will eather occur In Apocalypse or he will have lost hair In timegap between end of 1973 part of DOFP and whenever In 1980's Apocalypse takes place. If they introduce teenage cyclops and Jean It could around 1986.

He will probably lose his hair in the 80's, it's bound to happen.

In my opinion, they could start the next movie with James McAvoy already bald. Losing hair is natural for people who are in their 40s and above. They don't need to showcase the point where Charles is starting to lose his hair.

Also they have to make him look older in the 80s setting. I don't think McAvoy/Fassbender aged that much between First Class/Days of Future Past, so for Apocalypse, they need to make that change.

Thanos owns even without the Infinity Gems.

With a really good writer Apocalypse might (but probably won't) stand a chance against Thanos without the Gauntlet. But he's more then likely toast. Thanos is just too smart and strong. As far as mutants or X-Men related characters I think only Phoenix and Franklin Richards have the power to beat him.

But if Thanos has the Gauntlet everyone is ****ed. The Universe itself could be destroyed in seconds if he wanted it to. Gotta call Squirrel Girl for that one...

Technically Thanos is like an alien god isn't he? Apocalypse is technically a mutated human....

Apocalypse has been severely weakened in the books and hasn't been written as some all powerful being since like AoA 20 years ago. It's no contest between he and Thanos as he's no competition. He needs other powerful mutants to even put him on the same level
