What are the chances Michael Fassbender and James Mcavoy permanently take over the roles for the remaining films? Ian and Patrick are in their mid 70s, who knows how much longer they can keep up with future films.

I dont know. Maybe. Look at the box office for Hunger Games and Frozen over a holiday weekend. I think both will open big regardless, that Disny audience aint going anywhere as well as X-Men audeince. Both are beasts.

I do think the early word of Apocalypse will hype up DOFP quite a bit more and help bring in even more dough.

To say the chances are extremely high is an understatement.

I believe they're under contract for more films so they aren't going anywhere.

Using the timeline of the films as well as the age of the actors, Cyclops in the movie-verse was born in roughly 1973. Making him about 27 at the time of X-Men and X2: X-Men United and around 30 when he died in X-Men: The Last Stand.

Yeah, the FC cast are contracted for 3 movies. For Fassbender and Mcavoy's case, I don't doubt they'd sign on for more if they're really needed. Fassbender strikes me as a freakin' workaholic, and Mcavoy seems to be pretty on board with the franchise. Plus the fact that they're great friends and seem to enjoy working together a lot. They'll be back for these characters, just for that reason if nothing else.

You're way off.

2023 - Future portions of Days of Future Past
2016 - Airport scene from The Wolverine
2014 - The Wolverine
2013 - X3
2003 - Warren Worthington's mutation manifests
1993 - Xavier meets Jean Grey
1979 - Xavier meets Scott during The Three Mile Island incident. Scott is in high school and is a senior based on Tim Pocock's age.

He'd be in his late 20s in the late 80s.

All the OT took place In 1 year presumably 2013, because there wasn't much of a gap between films, it was something like a month between X1 and X2

The Three Mile Island incident did not occur, as from everything we've heard, X-Men Origins: Wolverine has been written out of cannon.

2023: X-Men: Days of Future Past

2005: Worthington Labs perfects its cure for the "X" Gene and announces it to the world
- Scott Summers is killed.
- Jean Grey returns as the Phoenix.
- Beast rejoins the X-men.
- Magneto and Mystique are cured of their powers.
- Charles Xavier is killed.
- The Phoenix and Jean Grey are killed.
- Beast is promoted to an Ambassador of the U.N.
- Magneto begins to regain some of his powers
- Charles Xavier transported his consciousness into another body.

2004: Mutants go public.
- Nightcrawler’s attack on the president
- William Stryker dies.
- Pyro joins the Brotherhood.
- Jean Grey is killed.

2004: In the "Not Too Distant Future" from 2000. The X-men (Cyclops, Storm, Jean and Logan) first face Magneto at Liberty Island.
- Wolverine joins the X-men.
- A mutant registration act is proposed by Senator Kelly.

2000: Jimmy "Leach" is found by Worthington Labs as the key to create a cure to the mutant "X" gene. They begin work on "The Cure".

1995: Warren Worthington III’s mutant powers manifest.

1988: Ororo Munroe's powers manifest at the age of 12. (from novelization).

1986: Jean Grey is recruited by Eric and Charles when she is 14.

1962: X-men: First Class events take place, introduction of the X-men and the Hellfire Club.

1955: Charles Xavier meets Eric Lensherr at the age of 17 (based on X-Men...mid-20s based on X-Men: First Class). Lensherr is approximately 26 (assuming he's about 16 in 1944).

1944: Eric Lensherr’s powers manifest.

But is there any possibility Mcavoy and Fassbender are in the present timeline with the ot cast? How would that be explained. I just want to see it happen.

Exactly. They would be incredibly stupid to let Lawrence, Fassbender and McAvoy go. Especially when the earlier two will be nominated for Oscars next year and their chances of winning are VERY high.

Would be completely foolish.

Dude your timeline is way off and Origins is indeed canon. Even your non-Origins dates are way off.

Everything below has been confirmed by Singer. The Three Mile Island bit was confirmed by Gavin Hood years ago.

2023 - Future portions of Days of Future Past
2016 - Airport scene from The Wolverine
2014 - The Wolverine
2013 - X3
2003 - Warren Worthington's mutation manifests
1993 - Xavier meets Jean Grey
1979 - Xavier meets Scott during The Three Mile Island incident. Scott is in high school and is a senior based on Tim Pocock's age.

Yes, and they explained in FC that Mystique will always look young, so they could use Jennifer Lawrence for both past and future.

Let me just take this opportunity to post my favorite En Sabah Nur picture

It would be so awesome if Age of Apocalypse made its way to the big screen, but I doubt that will be the storyline they use, as it's similar to DOFP.

I'm very interested in seeing his take on the character and how he incorporates him into this version of the X-Men mythoes.
Hopefully they will keep his costume as close to the comics as possible. Just remove the "A" belt buckle.

When they redesigned Phoenix and Juggernaught to look more realistic in X-Men 3 they ended up looking even more goofy than their comic book counterparts. I don't want to see the same happen to Apocalypse.

YAY! YAY! YAY!

I knew that we would be seeing another X-Men film before another spin-off movie!

Thank God Fox!

It wouldn't be wise for either movie to try to compete with the other. One of these films will have to move. Crossing fingers Alice does.

And in my opinion, this will be the 5th film with the OT cast!
