^ agreed, action just for the sake of action is never usually good. When it best serves the story and emotion or intensity of the characters is when action is best imo.

While i doubt there'll be anything revolutionary i hope we get some good Sentinel action, Iceman icing up that looks better ect...

What concerns me is the contradiction of the bulk of the new mutants being in the future adn that section being around thirty percent of the movie or so.

That leaves the bulk of the action being in the past where the characters are fewer and Sentinels more primative.

It's the second most expensive film Fox has ever made...

That leads me to think it'll have alot of CGI. That to me means Sentinals.

But the future only being 30% makes it seem to me that the future will have big huge scale but shortlived action spectacle with the rest of the movie being more demure and character-driven.

That's the reverse of what movies do, they build up the story and character to lead to the final big action.

Depends how much action of the future they save for the end of the movie. The movie might cut from past and future at certain points.

True. True.

I don't know why but i've got a picture in my head of the first 30-40 monutes being in the future with them battling Sentinels and most probably dying and then the rest in the past.

But yeah, going back and forth showing the need to keep Logan safe while he's being transmitted across time makes sense.

I want to see an X-Men action scene like the New York Avengers battle, but with young Cyclops, Jean, Angel, Beast, and Iceman in blue/yellow jumpsuits.

Is that too much to ask?

Imagine that tracking shot of Iron Man trying to lose the bogies in between buildings, but with Iceman or Angel instead.

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

There you have 4 characters that could easily be Iceman, Colossus, Cyclops and Rogue.

Will we get something like that on DOFP?

honestly, I highly doubt it.

Will we get it in X-Men: Apocalypse? we'll have to wait and see. 2 years exactly.

action very much depends on the director not always the FX or budget

Singer can do action, i wont say jack the giant slayer had amazing epic action for the budget but there was some interesting stuff

wasnt into the FX thing, Even thinking about X1 and 2 ,the only things were really atmospheric effects, I.e storm not flying and just using her power around her. I hope he really packs a punch in this.

If the Avengers has taught him anything it should be that people do like the big blockbuster effects, and if he can keep his human themes throughout with big effects he should theoretically wipe the floor with what we saw in the Avengers.

I'm tried of Storm holding back, I want her to go all out and fry all the Sentinels. Singer, its called CGI or a stunt double. Make her summon hell in the sky.

Yes, because those characters aren't featured in this movie or franchise right now.

I could say i want to see a young Storm walk around in her thong costume, but that makes no sense as she's not a character yet and it's unrealistic to expect such a costume in a movie aswell as her not wearing anything like that previously.

Well this film has been filmed in real 3d technology. I think the sentinels may provide some great SFX.

I'm hoping for some great action sequences with storm, blink, steeled colossus etc

Scientifically Singer really nailed Nightcrawlers teleportation. Only thing missing was the purple/flame glow of that dimension. (azazel's teleportation was PERFECTION!)

what irks me is that they are not only red, but he's missing the circles around the plasma discharge and himself, which (IMHO) should looks somewhat like lens flares that rotate from all directions. No more nuclear hulahoops!

Probably not if they aren't using the Original Cast.

its hard to say what he will do with colossus, its likely colossus will look the best he has ever looked in an X-men movie because the advances of technology, his look in X2 may be minimal to what they can do now and X3 was the cheap route they gave him a mask

I feel Collosus will get pushed aside, but he needs his moment. Since it seems that Storm, Collosus and the new mutants need to protect Kitty and Wolverine, it would be cool for like Xavier or Magneto to be like "I need to to protect us, under any circumstance. This is vital." That would make for them to have a big role in saving the future.
Iceman and Magneto would be away hough to rescue Rogue but since she's cut, where are they? Are they gonna be edited in? Or how are we gonna see Iceman in his iceform. ????

If they don't have a scene where they need to protect Wolverine when he's in his time travel state, that is going to be a gigantic missed opportunity and I'll practically want to face palm. It would be Colossus NOT fighting Juggernaut all over again.
