Bale is a bit of an odd case. He's done a lot of indie stuff but he also tried for years to really break through as a mainstream actor too. Apparently he sunk into a depression after Equilibrium flopped. Supposedly he thought that would be his big breakthrough role.

they didn't. Schumacher even apologized since it wasn't his intension. the studio wanted a lighter take than Burton's murderman returns, ya know...to boost toy sales. started with forever which set up b&r

I had suggested that (I'm sure others did too) just because he has the right look and voice for it I wouldn't mind that happening. Dunno if Snyder would layer things that elaborate though.

nope...you think WB would sink $140M into a film they know would fail. Think George Clooney wanted to have his name muddied like that or Joel Schumacher. Think WB wanted their lucrative Batman franchise killed?

Though Troll 2 is a brilliant piece of crap.

Sometimes a director's vision is greater than his ability.

Hmm, perhaps, he's pretty fit for 59.

He'd be a better fit for Luthor though.

In fact im gonna go post that in the Lex Luthor thread.

Poor guy! The interesting thing is it's not the worse movie and he's not all that bad in it. It's just corny on all kind of levels...lol

I actually watched that entire film on Netflix with one of my buds earlier this year. He told me if I ever made him watch that movie again, he'd punch me in the face.

Robert Redford isn't Denzel Washington.

Well, if this turns out to be true, I hope it's for the best. Still...Denzel's pushing 60. Not sure what they have planned for him in the role.

SLJ's role as Fury isn't very physical, though. Not sure how physical GL might be in these upcoming films, so it can go either way.

If you consider Denzel as Lex, being in all of the future JL/Superman films. 59 is not too old, he's a youngster compared to SLJ

Oh good gracious this whole John Stewart thing is making me even more distraught at the small amount of young black actors in Hollywood.

Why? Black men only make up 6% of the population as a whole It would make sense from a population standpoint where white people are 80%, that you see more of them on film.
