I've seen more then a few, but I can't recall them all off hand. Actually...now that I think on it more I've seen quite a few of his movies. I just don't see stoic. That's not the word that comes to mind when I think of him.

He does stoic well. But he also has a bit too much personality to be that all the time. Something John Stewart has occasionally been somewhat lacking in. It'd be an interesting casting choice.

Agreed with this. John Stewart is pretty loosely defined in the comics. His characterization in JL/JLU was the most consistent characterization seen from the character. Casting Dwayne Johnson brings a lot of personality to an otherwise boring character. Dwayne Johnson as GL could make GL one of the most popular superheroes. Iron Man in the comics was always B list before the movies came out, I see Dwayne Johnson doing to John Stewart what RDJ did to Stark.

*shrugs* You may all be right. I can't see it...and it may not even be true, so I'm probably not trying that hard to see it. I will watch the flicks that have been recommended. I think the last thing I watched with him in was Journey 2.

He's pretty much playing stewart in the GIJoe movie, add in the community man from Grid Iron Gang for good measure. Maybe a bit of the of the gov't man from Fast6.

His legendary heel run back in 2003ish. When he visited toronto.
VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Hollywood hasn't yet seen this guy. Too bad.

Haha his heel run in 2003 was fun but it had nothing on his original heel runs in 1998 and early 1999 when his character was at his best.

Rock is the epitome of charisma, and as badass as he is in say..Fast and the Furious..Hollywood hasn't even seen 25 percent of Dwayne's capabilities. If they followed wrestling throughout the 90s and early 2000's then they would. Of course John Stewart would probably be more of the GI Joe, Fast 5/6 type of Rock. But i agree that it would turn GL into what Downey did for Iron Man.

Yeah, if they go with John Stewart as a former soldier of some kind, he's easily capable of that, physically and otherwise, and he's intelligent and charismatic enough to handle the architectural/artist aspects of the character.

Actually, the more I think about it, I wouldn't mind seeing them bring in his crippling injuries as part of the character. Make becoming Green Lantern his chance to be physical again, through sheer force of will.

"The Rock gets more pie in a week than you get in a lifetime" 2003 Hollywood Rock was his best run.

As awesome as he was during those times, he hadn't really fit in just yet. He was delivering his promos at a slower pace and didn't really have that fire he has now.

That was hilarious. But there's no way 2003 was anybodys best run in wrestling lol. WWE went downhill after 2001-2002ish, and Rock completely changed his iconic character to fit the Hollywood Rock. Heel or Face (good or bad for those who don't know wrestling lingo). He moved fast, talked quicker, changed his hair, lost the sideburns, etc. The classic Rock was from 98-2001 and that is what made him who he was going to be for the rest of his career.

But his promos in 2003 were amazing haha.

But back to Green Lantern or Cyborg or whoever he might play. Im so down.

It's still entertaining, but my friends and i all agree that he's been too hyper on the mic since 2002-2003 and the slower talking Rock who used to methodically and arrogantly walk to the ring all dressed up like a million bucks...was much greater.

I will say this. If they are thinking of rebooting with a franchise with him then he might not be a bad choice.
