Norman Osborn appeared earlier on in Amazing.
Issue 37, I believe, is the first time he was named.

and he made his very first unspoken and un-named appearance in panels 7 and 8 on page 6 of ASM #23...

I love that Norman Osborn is introduced after the GG shows up. The whole mystery behind his identity is really cool. Wish I could have experienced reading it for the first time without knowing Osborn was the Goblin, but oh well.

Isn't TSSM#66 supposed to be used as source material for TASM2?

That's true too. I'm trying to get #32 and #31, To complete that storyline but 31 is quite expensive obviously.

or pick up the Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 Omnibus for the ENTIRE run of Steve Ditko's issues... a WHOPPING collection containing Amazing Fantasy #15, ASM #1-38, the first two Annuals and lots of other goodies... WELL worth it... and they just released the third printing back in August with updated touchups where needed... HIGHLY recommend it... and you might get into it so much, that you'll want the Vol 2 Omnibus... if you DO, get it with the classic John Romita cover of ASM #39 dustjacket and NOT the crapperiffic Ramos cover...

lol. It probably did.

Hey, I already own the 1st Omnibus and I was thinking about getting the 2nd Omnibus. What's the difference with the Romita cover and Ramos cover?

Couldn't have said it better myself. Ramos has some... interesting art, but Romita's is just pure beauty.

Trying to figure out who I love more, Steve Ditko or John Romita Sr…. argh!

Either way, I think the Ditko era of Spider-Man comics are my favorite overall. In fact, its my favorite era of comic books overall, not just for Spider-Man.

This is probably my favorite standalone Spider-Man comic book. Ever.

It was adapted into an episode of the 1990s animated series. So good…

There's a reason Romita is one of my top favorite Spidey artists and it clearly shows in this example.

where the artwork is concerned, Ditko developed him and then Romita evolved him... so I have an affection for both guys, as these were the two artists that I grew up on...

when necessary, Ditko placed Spidey into the shadows of the night in the dirtier and seedier parts of town where water towers, waterfronts and low-life hoodlums were the norm... Romita brought him out into the light of day and web-swinging past high-rise skyscrapers and dealing with gangsters and organized crime in the city...

There have been rumblings of 2 Spider-Man books, Superior and one with Peter. I'm thrilled that they're calling it Amazing again. I wish Ramos would move on though.
