Default Re: 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards

Well, I was beginning to think we were just gonna stick to the Academy Awards thread for the whole awards seasons this year. Copy/pasting my predictions for tonight from that thread:

Best Picture (Drama)
Will/Should Win: 12 Years a Slave. Though I'd be happy with Gravity taking this too.

Best Picture (Musical/Comedy)

Will/Should Win: American Hustle

Best Actor (Drama)
Will Win: Either Matthew McConaughey or Robert Redford
Should Win: Chiwetel Ejiofor. Though I'd be a lot happier with McConaughey winning than Redford.

Best Actress (Drama)

Will/Should Win: Cate Blanchett

Best Actor (Musical/Comedy)

Will Win: Bruce Dern or Leo DiCaprio
Should Win: Christian Bale or Leo DiCaprio

Best Actress (Musical/Comedy)

Will Win: Meryl Streep
Should Win: Amy Adams

Supporting Actress

Will Win: Jennifer Lawrence
Should Win: Lupita Nyong'o. Though I loved Jlaw in AH, so I'd be fine with her winning as well.

Supporting Actor
Will/Should Win: Jared Leto. Though I'm torn between him and Fassbender, so I'd be happy with either.

Best Director
Will/Should Win: Alfonso Cuaron. I mean, as great as Bullock was, his direction was clearly the star of that film.

Screenplay
Will/Should Win: American Hustle. Though I do find this category to be a bit weak this year in general.

Score
Will/Should Win: Gravity

And while I'm at it, some of the major TV categories:

Drama Series
Will/Should Win: Breaking Bad. I mean, come on.

Comedy Series
Will Win: Girls? I dunno. Anything but the one that deserves it, which is...
Should Win: Parks and Recreation, which will continue its run as the most criminally overlooked comedy on TV, imo.

Drama Actor
Will/Should Win: Bryan Cranston should FINALLY get his due from the Globes. Unless the power of Spacey proves to be too much.

Drama Actress
Will Win: Kerry Washington, TV's It Girl of the moment.
Should Win: Tatiana Maslany, who SHOULD be TV's It Girl of the moment, thanks to an unprecedented performance that truly blows anyone else who ever played multiple roles on the same show outta the water. Oh well, at least the Globes acknowledged her at all, unlike the Emmys/SAGs, so that's progress, I guess.

Comedy Actor
Will Win: Michael J. Fox
Should Win: Jason Bateman or Don Cheadle

Comedy Actress

Will Win: Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Should Win: Dreyfus or Amy Poehler. Sadly, I doubt Poehler will ever get her due before Parks ends, but if she has to lose to someone, best that it's Dreyfus, as I really feel like her role on Veep is her best role-to-date.

Supporting Actor
Will/Should Win: Aaron Paul. Though Jon Voight could take it, which would be a shame, imo.

Supporting Actress
Will/Should Win: Anyone but Sofia Vergara. Honestly, she's the only one whose work I've seen in this category, and all I know is I don't consider her performance award-worthy at all.

They were just awful and classless. They had something about "Michael J. Fox having Parkinson's in (year)" as a "fun" fact. There was something too about Robert Redford but it was along those lines too.
