I'm not a fan of how bulky those gauntlets are, and that "collar" cape attachment is very strange-but the cowl, material, and logo design are great

It's an interesting design. It's a shame he went in for those "in-flight meal tray" gauntlets that originated in the video game. The crazily heavy armour on the neck results in a rather clumsy look, but I suppose that's inherent in the design he was adapting. I don't understand why the symbol is the same colour/shade as the fabric in the rest of the suit- that never makes any sense to me.

Otherwise, a very good effort. It's certainly better than any movie suit produced since Batman Returns.

Sometimes. I got a chuckle out of "in-flight metal tray guantlets" though.

That's just the Origins cowl/cape on the Asylum/City body, which as I suspected looks better than both suits because it combines the two best elements of them.

Just like the TDK(R) cowl on the Begins body would result in a better suit that either of them.

^ Really, the Origins suit is the perfect middle ground between the "serious movie suit" and the one from the pages.

I think the only real big issue that I have with the Arkham origins suit is that I would have a hard time buying that a regular person could move so freely in that outfit unless there was a mechanic in that suit that allowed the user to move freely, similar to how iron man's suit works.

^ I mean, the one from the comic with NO modifications would look like this

And a GOOD movie suit looks like THIS

But I think the Origins costume a nice merging of design types. Cloth with padding/texture with flexibility, etc.

You know what?

The more I look at those damned Arkham guantlets, the more I realize that the issue with them isn't so much the size of the guantlet, but the fins.

The fins are horrible. They're entirely too big and the shape is off. I like my fins small to medium size with a more sharp and geometric shape. It looks like they slapped three big ass knife blades on to each of his wrists.

To suggest that all of the varied approaches, taken by different comic book artists, equate to Alex Ross' baggy pajamas is misrepresentation.

Alex Ross' art is reflective of what he thinks the comicbook costumes would look like in the flesh. Plenty of other artists would disagree.

I don't think the dudes face fits into that cowl nicely, it looks quite silly and I've never seen a cosplay cowl with the side mouth slits that looked particularly good.

Came across this on Reddit. Looks pretty good IMO. I think one thing is clear...the time for black rubber armor is gone forever.

I'd say gone for now (gladly IMO), but not forever I'm sure.

I like it. With exception of the shoulder straps and gloves.

Change the cowl and the symbol and I'm so down for this. I always loved the original suit, this is a great throwback to that.

That looks sublime. Clearly a throwback to the original Batman, but with a modern feel. I think I'm more impressed with the artist's style. I suddenly want a comic series or animated series based off it.

These are sick!

Change the purple gloves to grey or black and nothing else for me.
