Storm took to the air more than twice. On two occasions it showed wind around her as she ascended but then when she hovered in the air the winds were gone. Her hair was not blowing and neither was her cape. There are two other occasion where she ascends and the wind effect isn't used. I'm thinking of her final flight when Logan asks her to 'get everyone to safety'. She just stretches her arms and levitates into the air.

Storm mostly descends and ascends in X3 but at the beginning in the danger room scene where she does 'fly' it looks like wirework. Who's idea was it to make her fly in that awkward position.

And yeah Halle spoke about her role taking a HUGE dive because of her pregnancy so whatever we get I'm always gonna be like 'how much more could we have gotten had she not been pregnant"?
Agreed I hope at some point she or Singer comments on exactly what her role was going to be and how it changed. And why they had to change it, why they couldn't just film all her scenes as quick as possible.

Lol, I guess I forgot how much they had her in the air in X3! I was only thinking of the fight at Jeans house and the final fight where she used the wind to lift her in the air before Callisto took her down. That danger room flight sequence was very weird.

I remember seeing a behind the scenes video where it showed they were thinking of doing a backwards flip when she flew down in the danger room... I almost vomitted at how bad it was.

Sound effects do not constitute "riding the wind currents". It was very obvious (and bad) wire work. And sometimes they forgot to turn her eyes white in the process.

[QUOTE=CB Fan;27799833]Nice to see a visual confirmation but Hugh had already told us she would fly when he was talking about how impressed with her he was during filming. [QUOTE]

When did he say that?

Yes because that is how she is flying. WInd currents help to carry her (also why she always has a cape).

They obviously wanted to show her twirling abilities.

You can really see the baby bump in this picture, lol.

I think they did a good job hiding her bump for the film. I still think her pregnancy could have been working into the story. Like, a "One man's worth" thing with Mr. Logan

Remain dead? As in the future doesn't change after Logan's mission is over?

Whatever it is that you are suggesting will FAIL! All will be as it was when Wolverine completes his mission.

I understand I know how she flies, but technically wind is invisible, and she's had uniforms without capes. I feel like it's nice to show wind visually sometimes, but every time she flies might be over doing it. It's kind of like the 90s cartoon when jean used her TK and her TK energy was pink. Then on X-Men Evolution they choose go with out the visual energy.

No it's always visible... even in the animated series.

Yeah I know what you mean

Too much wind might not even be needed...UNLESS she was going all out,but casually descending and what not,Storm only needs little wind currents because she's a very small woman(weight wise). Though when she's summoning all of her fury, then cue dramatic category 5 winds.

In X3 I did see wind though.

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

That's another reason they have to taper her cape the right way,so the wind will catch. Though I do see what you guys were talking about, her cape wasn't blowing right, but in the front they had wind,in the back not as much..

That would've been cool.

It does..lol

I use to play X-men video games all the time like mutant academy, and she had some spin move called electric drill. It was awesome. She looked like a lightning bullet

Back on topic though, when Storm spins she creates a wind vortex that sucks in. Normally she probably wouldn't be able to lift Wolverine or move him in time(being she's a woman, and he's even heavier than your average man, because of his admantium skeleton)

So her winds kind of give her super strength( Like how she threw Callisto really far at the end of Last Stand).. Also the spin move is good for dodging and maneuvering out of the way quickly. Aesthetically it makes her look like a human tornado.

I don't know why you guys hate it. I Thought that was creative.

As far as her flying horizontal, I mean for the Danger room sequence, that didn't look bad at all to me. It's like she didn't wanna be all the way in the air, because a Sentinel would shoot her down,so she was kind of hovering horizontally and staying low toward the ground just to be safe and stealthy.

Yeah I kind of do miss long hair

It would look so cool with all the wind effects in DOFP.
I mean honestly I don't know who had more pull in the hair department, Halle or whoever, but in the comics Storm had medium length hair during DOFP.

In AOA it was short though.

In a dystopian future, who has time for faux hawks and trendy haircuts, Grey lowlights? Wouldn't you not give a ish about your hair, and throw it back in a pony tail.I know I would.
I mean I can see her cutting it if it get in the way,but her hair is too conveniently styled and chic in DOFP....lmao!!

Sure it does, if said sound effects denote the sound of "wind". Again, her cape and hair are also blowing.

What's so bad about the wirework?

Seeing as how you can't see wind, as has been pointed out several times already, this is kind of a nitpicky complaint if they show the cape, the hair, and some indication of wind when she's in flight or gliding, which they do in several different ways in X3. In the final battle for instance, when wind kicks up during the final battle, dust goes into the air around her until she is taken down.

I can't remember any specific instances where she's actually creating storms and her eyes don't "white out". Were you referring to any in particular? I don't think she was depicted as needing to concentrate that much for just wind.
