Given how early it is its unlikely singer is gonna spill something like that when we haven't even seen DOFP yet so yeah at this point some time could mean a decade

^ Not really, but it's not really worth arguing about.

If Apocalypse features both cast, I'm hoping the FC cast will be set in the late 80s or 1988 or 1989 (the year I was born). Apocalypse doesn't have to appear and be introduced in the 70s especially if his scene is not teased in the 70s period of DOFP.

Then for the OT cast, is it possible they could come back to the 2010s? If not, I hope they set them just 1 year after the events of DOFP, so 2024.

It doesn't sound like it's going to.

Som time ago, they said, each next movie will be in different decade.
We had 60's, now we have 70's, so it looks like next movie is about 80's.

True but it might be 1980 or 1981 instead of 1987 or 1988.

They're likely to anchor it to a big event in the 80s as well. Space exploration? The Challenger? That was '86.

X-men: Apocalypse will then conclude with their ship landing in Jamaica Bay...

1981 first cases of Aids reported. Possibly Legacy virus if singer wanted to go there.

14 years after X1 we finally have official timeline.
X1 took place in 2005

Xavier n Erik met Jean in 1981, so X3 told us it was 20 years ago (according to timeline X3=2007)

Does it change anything? I think, no. What done is done I hope DOFP will fix all the mess

X1 taking place in 2005 is not bad at all, especially when the film came out in 2000, it was clearly stated that it is set in the not too distant future.

Things were pushed back as a result of the time travel in DoFP; that shouldn't be that hard to figure out.

Pushed back? It was never later.
When I watched X1, I thought it's even 2001, I saw WTC at 3D virtual model of New York. Looks like no Hank in mansion, and they can't upgrade it

They are trying to get the dates of films so they can fit with each other. They clearly retconning origins so events are spread out much further to further connect to Trilogy since future Is set of DOFP as 2023.

They appear to be retconning the midcredit scene of the wolverine so it takes place In same year as present scenes of the Wolverine.

Your also right that time travel of DOFP can be seen as reason for certain amount of spreading around.

Some may still want to debate the timeline but we have official source now.
Of course some won't stop just like those who won't let go of "emma" In origins vs Emma Frost or easter eggs

They are not clearly retconning everything from Origins, if the events of Origins is included in this movie timeline by Empire.

The Mark I's in DOFP are probs the closest you will ever get to 'actual sentinels'...and in my opinion they look great!

I wouldn't hold my breath on that anymore than a X-Men film with just the original 5,or as I like to call It the team before X-Men became top selling
Comic Book.

Please learn to read sarcasm. Thanks.

Besides the lesson here is even though The Avengers *didn't* use comic-accurate Skrulls, it still turned out to be a great movie. In this case, substitute The Avengers with X-men and the Skrulls with Sentinels.

They retconned the dates of origins to have that film better fit with other
films.

They set wolverine and sabretooth being recruited In 1975,and now the team X mission which causes wolverine to quit now takes place four years later despite appearing to be shortly after in film. And while film said 6 years later the main events of origins are now placed 8 years later In 1987

They are still not retconning everything. Origins is still relevant when it comes to franchise's current timeline.

And I'm not sure about "retconning the dates". I suggested before that the last part of the film took place after the three-mile accident and most people were suggesting that Wolverine/Stryker caused that 3-mile accident to happen. It looks like I was right.
