Maybe they could share some of the early art designs for the sentinels in the movie as part of the viral campaign. I'd love to see them.

The trask website doesn't say there were any other marks, the same design seemed to last till 1996 then they vanished till 2020

Ive just realized something.

Looking on boxofficemojo yearly numbers of 2013 and 2012 on USA, I see that Fox didnt have any movie on the top 10, and their biggest movie on USA each of these years didnt even reach 200m.

some users may think this is irrelevant, but I think this is speaking a lot about Fox current status and them lossing momentum these latest two years on USA.

For the studio that brought the biggest movie of the whole history, not having any movie reaching 200m on USA is really weird to the say least, and if we add that the two latest X-Men movies have had worse numbers too...... is a bit worrying.

Something must be going on in the studio, at least with the USA market. Either marketing issues, internal differences between the executives.... or something else we cant know about. But whatever it is, something isnt working at all.

I wouldn't say irrelevant, but I wouldn't say it's as out of the ordinary for Fox as you're making it sound either. If you look at the numbers further, you'll notice Fox isn't one to readily occupy the domestic top 10 with $200+ million grossing blockbusters and hasn't been for a while.

I looked at worldwide numbers later, and saw that the only big numbers Fox got were Ice Age 6 and on that same year, Life of Pi, around 600m.

But thats it.

And if Im not mistaken, last year their two biggest movies were The Croods and The Wolverine, and The Croods only made $587.2, so yeah, Fox is not on top of the game anymore.

And to me thats a bit worrying, taking into account this is the studio of our beloved franchise. I hope things change for them in the upcoming years, mainly because I care about X-Men impact, so I want Fox on top of their game, not under most studios.

Angamb, it looks a bit better if you click on Box Office Mojo's studio breakdown:

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/studio/

Fox came 6th in 2011, 2012 and 2013; 3rd in 2010; 4th in 2009.

But I agree they need a more powerful (and well-regarded) presence. I think I remember some stories on Deadline about various Fox marketing execs getting fired, so maybe they are trying to rebuild the brand.

yeah, I think the studio has suffered because of some internal changes these latest years, starting with Tom Rottman exit some years ago.

Hopefully DOFP has a really powerfull run and they put even more focus and effort on the franchise, so we will get even more movies with an even bigger marketing push.

I just noticed that after Avatar and Ice Age, X-Men is their most important franchise right now, so... lets hope this movie changes it all, in a good sense.

I think Fox's Planet of the Apes series has potential to be huge and help them out.

They also have the Terminator reboot and Prometheus 2. The new Fantastic Four movie, if done right, might create a new franchise too.

I hope that a second trailer is on the way, if you follow with this terrible disclosure, X-MEN will never outsell the previous films in the franchise.

We need a trailer with ACTION, FIGHTING POWERS and that's what the public wants.

The Avengers trailer humiliated 1 trailer X-MEN DOFP, we need scenes of epic action, we need sentries.

Right now, Fox just doesn't have a lot of franchises that could gross $200 million in the U.s. not even the Blue Sky films such as Ice Age and Rio and film franchises as Alien, Night at the Museum, Taken and even Planet of the Apes. They have Avatar, but the sequel is taking so much time.

The Croods is not even a Fox film, they just distributed it.
Anyway, it doesn't worry me. Fox the film studio/distributor is not in danger. And it makes me feel good that X-Men is still one of their top-tier movie franchises.

have u guys seen this? xmenmovies just posted it on twitter:

Lego or a group of people is trying to get Marvel support to bring a new product, The Lego X-Manssion, and there is a whole campaign with +4000 voters:

http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/53799#

The manssion is soooo cool, and they want a total of 45 x-men figures, tho not as part of the set all together. This would be great marketing for our X-Men

Coinicidentally, the X-Men in the Danger Room make up the roster in the past timeline of Days of Future Past.

Lego actually does have an X-Men (Cyclops, Magneto, Storm, and Wolverine)/Sentinel set slated for release sometime later this year.

love this whole X-Manssion set, it looks huge, lol.

And its great marketing to get new fans on the young audience, at least in the long run, for future movies.

I would absolutely get Lego X-men set, ie the characters.

(I actually made X-men characters using Lego when I was 12-13 and was gonna send it in to Wizard Magazine LOL)

OH MY GOD PIXIE! Mercury! Broo! Cuckoos! I can't see if Anole is there but if he is I would want an Anole one!

Sidecomment - I'm REALLY sad that of all the 'underground' characters, they go with Ink as a member of the faction that Havok is in. I would kill for Anole, or Elixir, or Hellion or David to have been in the film.

Yeah, it's too bad they're not making and selling all these characters with the set. At least it's cool to see what they look like in lego form, even if you can't buy them.

Yep. In addition to the minifigures and sentinel, the set features the Blackbird as well. Also, it looks like Lego is going for a 1980s X-Men comic book theme this go around, instead of a movie theme, with Magneto donning the uniform he wears when he temporarily becomes headmaster of the School and Wolverine wearing his familiar brown and tan uniform.
