Based on what I've seen in this thread, for some of the women (and even a few of the men) to pretend that....well, let's just say that I think it would be easier to make everyone love Gal as Wonder Woman right off the bat and have everyone claim Zack Snyder to be a better director than Chris Nolan. :o

It would be amusing if Cat hit on Clark. They could make him oblivious to it like comic Clark.

And to be honest, I wouldn't be able pretend he isn't hot. That's one of the reasons I can't help posting this gif. If that isn't a damn sexy nerd, I don't know what is.

Speaking of which, even though it isn't a major thing, I kind of hope that they place Clark's desk next to Lois's in the DP. I just think that it's one of those small things that can actually say a lot without really saying it.

On another note, I wouldn't be surprised if it was expressions like these that sold Cavil to Snyder and company for the role. One thing that I always say is how the person that plays Superman needs to be able to sell off the expression from when Superman reassures someone that they're safe and are going to be alright, along with showing that he's not the villain or someone to be feared of by innocent people.

Indeed. Cavill was strongly emotive and very emphatic in his acting. It gave his Clark a sincerity and humility that made him easy to root for.

You know, a part of me kind of wonders at times if Jor-el and Lara somewhat took it for granted that their son would eventually grow up to be a good person.

I mean here they are, sending their son to Earth, in which they have no idea on whether he'll actually make it to the planet, and whether he'll be discovered by good people.

From a logical point of view, you could see it as a big gamble as well, since they also know on what their son would be capable of physically once he developed his powers and they have no idea on whether he would use them wisely or abuse them and become a tyrant like Zod.

I mean, on a realistic note, if this were all real, then Jor-el and Lara should be thankful from their graves that it was the Kents that discovered Clark first and took him in as their own.

This is what I'm talking about when I call Cavill's performance in MOS "subtle" and "nuanced." He's not doing anything showy or chewing scenery. But he's being Superman. That look is a small, but important thing that says: "I'm superman. I'm the one you can trust."

Oh, yes. I don't think we've ever seen them consider what might happen if their son grows up to be a giant prick. They would be responsible for many deaths.

You call it "bias," I call it having functioning eyeballs in your orbital sockets and having at least a modicum of taste. Come on. That's like saying, "Well, I'm not sure whether or not water is wet, but my beach dwelling buddies tell me..."

They should have Tom Welling, Dean Cain, and Brandon Routh also working at the Daily Planet. That'll throw them off. :P

LOL! They could all have their own special nicknames to distinguish between them.

It was some of the best things about Cavill's Superman/Clark. I wish they do more stuff like that in the next movie(s).

^Exactly. He doesn't have to act like an outdated "gee golly wiz" hokey 50's caricature to project a calm and reassuring persona as Superman

I think that was a lot of people's beef with MoS. They were expecting the clean cut, perfect alien capable pulling off any insurmountable feat & solving any problem.

Cavill's Superman is perfectly in line with how I believe Superman would be in the real world. And after looking at MoS a billion times, I honestly can't see anything I dislike with Cavill's performance. From the more subtle nuances to the most expressive scenes, he nailed it all.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Cavill as a Superman that's established. Now that the origins are out of the way we'll get to, over time, see a more experienced, veteran Superman.

It's gonna be fantastic.

I think another problem was that people were, unintentionally or not, expecting to see Henry portray the "veteran Superman" that they were more familiar with as opposed to a rookie Superman who was just coming about.

But I don't think he will fix everything even if he's more experienced. He will try to do his best. That's Superman.

That's true. But at the end of the day, people all have their own interpretations of what the character will be like. Some think that he should be this demi-god like person who is never at fault and is able to find a solution to any problem. Others want him to be more Tony Stark-like, etc.

However IMO this approach have the essence of the character on a modern world. You may have a point.

I think these colors and ilumination will be very good but at the same time viable.

Whoa! That's a pic that I have never seen! He's easily the best looking live action Superman we have ever seen.

Well assuming if BvS doesn't turn out to be a mess, when you count MOS (for those of use that either enjoyed the film, Henry as Superman, or both), we should be very lucky that Henry wasn't picked to play Superman in previous attempts.
