^ I am very glad he wasn't wasted in SR. Although, I don't think even MOS made the best use of his talents.

^ Acting. I think they could have given him more lines/more chances to flex his acting muscles.

We all know that they're not the muscles you're interested in.

Wow the suit is gorgeous the only downside to it are those fake abs.

Nah. The emphasized muscularity is what makes the suit so damn good.

Its definitely one of the things that makes the suit pop. When people say that he the suit is looking amazing on Cavill and that it conveys a lot of that Superman feel, they are responding to a large extent to the physicality and musculature that the suit is able to showcase. The suit is being displayed on the best mannequin there is, that is Cavill's body and for once in live action Superman is being showcased as just as buff as he is in the comics and the suit is shown off to its best advantage, offset as it is by a great physique to fill it out and shape it.

And Snyder (and Cavill) worked hard for it. And Snyder really wanted the muscles to show in this iteration of Superman. Below is his exchange with Kevin Smith about this during the MOS Blu-Ray launch fan event.

Zack Snyder: I was really into (and Henry was able to do it) the physicality of Superman. I think in the past (on screen) he hasn't really been iconographically physical as well like in the comic books he is.
Kevin Smith: In the movies and on TV he's generally a thin guy.
Zack Snyder: Yeah, yeah!
Kevinn Smith: He doesn't have the muscles.
Zack Snyder: I just felt like it would be really cool to be able to see that and have it feel like the suit was an extension of his body. And that really was the biggest challenge for me, to make that (happen).

True. I haven't seen fake abs after the oil rig scene. People misunderstood fake with enhanced in the suit.

Wow. I never knew it was possible for someone else to put in the hard work and discipline of exercising and eating the proper diet and somehow transfer all the benefits onto another person who apparently would have to do the bare minimum to nothing to receive the gains. I'll have to get in touch with Zack to find out how he hooked Henry up.

News!!!

The Moving Picture Institute has just announced the winners of this year's Liberty in Film awards, and the Man of Steel himself is being honored:

BEST MALE CHARACTER: SUPERMAN, MAN OF STEEL
Having escaped the authoritarian planet Krypton as a baby, Clark Kent/Superman fights for freedom and individualism on Earth even when he has to combat the US government's own surveillance apparatus.

Of course part of that honor goes to Henry for his Superman portrayal in the film. Congratulations! we can't wait to see what he brings to the sequel.
