That was taken days ago, that debris is no longer there.

Plus, they're probably arguing over who gets to search for it, and where.

Just because its 2014 doesn't mean **** can get done in an instant.

I think I am being reasonable.

It has been at least 6/SIX whopping hours, since... the news broke. Around 4:30 is when I heard it now it's 11:20

Also I am sure that spot is under 3 hours to get to. It's not that far!

Yeah but the debris will have drifted since then so it's going to take time to track down (if that really IS debris).

This was an accidental China missile that killed plane machine

China wouldn't shoot down a commercial airliner in Vietnam's airspace.

You're not taking into account the variables, weather might be an issue for instance, perhaps permission from respective governments might need to be granted to search, on top of that you've got to plan these things properly. Again just because we can google the capital of Nigeria in 3 seconds doesn't mean we can necessarily find a missing airline jet that quickly, especially if it went completely off course. The world is a big place remember.

It's not just you. That map is like a connect-the-dot puzzle.

I really just don't know anymore--like I knew in the first place. But no theory seems quite right, we still don't know if that's the actual plane, we know little more than we did five days ago. I can't begin to imagine what the families of the victims are going through. Those poor people.

That seems premature. Debris drifts and sinks. It's still a promising lead.

This is very true. Plus people are forgetting that searching the ocean is not like search land where stuff will stay in one place.

So now the conspiracy has moved to a missile shooting down the plane...lol. Y'all have seen way too many movies. Or you watched a recent episode of Scandal....lol.

This story is becoming too insane for me. I just can't process the developments anymore.

Wall Street Journal is reporting the plane may have flew as long as FIVE hours off-radar.

......

Which means it might still have been in the air when it was first reported missing.

That does raise the possibility of survivors. Slightly.

Then again, they'd be dead by now.

I'm not sure I understand though. So this plane somehow went off the grid for hours? How does that even happen? This isn't the Devil's Triangle in the 40's.

Someone had to pick them up. Both China and Vietnam guard their airspace.

Seriously, if this is any indication of China's defense network, the US should stop building billion dollar stealth bombers.

Or did the pilots just decide they were going to Tahiti?

You need to be a subscriber to read the whole article. Here's where to find the stub (and I'm typing on my iPhone, so hopefully it links properly)

Engine data logged an extra 4 hours (but nothing on radar and no transponder communication). The suggestion was it flew below radar, maybe as low as 1,000 feet.
