Joe Cornish was rumored to direct the next Star Trek I think?

A Spider-Man movie written by Joss Whedon and directed by James Cameron is too great an idea to even contemplate.

The thing that has me most excited about Sinister Six is the fact that Drew Goddard is writing and directing.

Spider-Man written by Joss Whedon and directed by James Cameron is an idea way too good to be possible, same as Tim Burton doing Pirates of the Caribbean or Ben Affleck Directing Batman, though the former does seem to be becoming more possible every day.

Thing is that I'm not really a Joss Whedon fan. I never got into any of his TV shows (Buffy is too 90s for me) and as much as I like the Avengers, the movie came off as pretty hollow. But the guy does have talent, I'll give him that, and I think he would have a great time making a Spider-Man film. If I recall correctly his favorite CBMs are Spider-Man 1 & 2.

I loved Buffy and Angel, but found The Avengers pretty hollow too, i think he's talented, but not as much as he seems to believe, and as a Director he has a lot to learn. But he does seem like the right person to handle Spider-Man.

Do you guys think that Sam Raimi would ever direct a Spider-Man movie again? It wouldn't be the first time a director came back after leaving a franchise. Bryan Singer returned over a decade later to direct DOFP, and Wrath of Khan director Nicholas Meyer came back to direct The Undiscovered Country 9 years later.

What about the directors of Rise of the Planet of the Apes or the director of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes?

I doubt he would, Sam Raimi has done his take and gotten a reboot, i don't think the studio is even thinking about it.

I myself would love to see Joss Whedon's take on Spidey. I guess he would be my 1# choice, but I know that's almost impossible, unless Spidey comes back to Marvel Studios - which is also almost impossible, at least by now. Matthew Vaughn would great, too, but I guess he's too much a Fox and he probably wouldn't do more than one movie. Edgwar Wright, Brad Bird, Duncan Jones, Rian Johnson, Abrams and Miller & Lord all seem very good. I'd also be down with a comeback from Raimi, but that's a really long shot.

All things, said, Drew Goddard seems to be the most logical choice and he sure would please me based on Cabin in the Woods. Marvel Studios also seem to trust him, as he is to write and direct Daredevil miniseries. I think his take could be great.

Now, the real best choice is, obviously, me! I'd put Spidey on war between two crime factions led by Hammerhead and Mysterio. Spidey would have to play the detective and would first come to Hammerhead. A lot of investigation and interrogations would have to take place to find the shady figure that is Mysterio, who would screw up Spidey's head badly with some nasty illusions. If you guys like my ideia, please send e-mails to Sony requesting them to hire me.

I suggested Matt Reeves on the page before this one. I wouldn't mind Rupert Wyatt either.

Would be kind of wild to see Joseph-Gordon Levitt direct a Spider-Man film since he was always a favorite to take on the role after Toby before Andrew Garfield got it.
