I'm hoping that it stays around the 80s-90s. Could always be wrong, though. :c

should be around the mid 80's. I can't see many of those guys NOT liking the movie.

Um… I have a strange sense of humor, I guess.

Really hoping it doesn't do some wonky plunge like IM3 and Thor:TDW did. Still pulling for something in the 80's.

(But I'll probably still enjoy this thing even if it ended up in the 30's).

My guess is a tomatometer in the 80's or low 90's, but with an average rating in the 7's.

I don't guess RT scores or bet on them because critics are strange beasts. Some are contrarians or out to score points against certain genres. People place too much emphasis on RT scores, anyway, and the way they are viewed is skewed. When a film garners positive reviews from 70% of the cantankerous, entitled creatures who write reviews that should be viewed as a major success, but fans will invariably think of that as failure. It doesn't make any sense but there you are.

This is what I meant the other day about the TM being completely arbitrary. Already we've seen a 3/5 star review counted as a Rotten. That's worthless.

Another 3/5 star review was counted as fresh.

That's the blurbs we all like to read over on RT!

Exactly, see? Makes zero sense. Completely useless. But people insist on treating it like it's some Holy Oracle of film worth.

edit: and that's not a knock on anyone here, hell I voted in the poll too, everyone wants a good score but it's more to deny the haters a weapon than an actual gauge of the films quality.

Even though I'd still see this movie even if it ended up in the teens on RT, there's still a certain "pride" factor if our movie garners a certain amount above all others, like it validates our opinion of it. It's really irrational and whatnot, but I can't help but get that flicker of glee every time a critic declares the movie is actually good. And I do tend to dismiss the negativity in a sea of positives. Cantankerous, entitled warts that they are!

Percentages tell us nothing about the quality of the movie. People see 90% and think "wow, it must be great". What if those 90% only gave a 3/5 to the movie? The movie can be viewed as average by most and still be 90% fresh.

They also give an average rating. Cap 2 is currently at 7.9...

Avengers got an 8.0...

TDK got an 8.5...

Yeah, but people generally judge by the %, not the rating. Plus, those movies have good ratings, but there are also those who have huge percentages and not so great ratings. You can have a 90% with a rating of 7 or so. 90% might sound great, but 7/10 is only good.

Name all the Superhero films in the 90s on RT. Then name the most popular well regarded superhero films.

If only the other 99% of the internet knew this...

Tomatometer merely tells you how accessible something is. For instance, most people don't realize that Thor TDW and MOS got the same average score from critics (6.2).

That being said, 7.9 average rating is pretty dang high for an action movie. The Dark Knight's 8.5 is the highest I've seen in recent years.

True.

My fav comic book movie, The Wolverine got i think 69% on the tomato meter, and i'm perfectly fine with that. As long as it's a fresh score...

Nah. Highest rated films RT last year were also on a majority of everyones best of the year with a few exceptions.

How often is a fair film in the 90s? Not that often. Be it rating or percentage, none of it should matter because all films are subjective. But if it can gain universal praise from that many critics it's gonna be very well liked by a majority of the population. And that does speak on the quality.

Not saying threre can't be exceptions....
