Default 75 Years of The Batman- Anniversary Celebration

Official WB Announcement on the happenings this year to celebrate the 75 amazing years of The Dark Knight himself. I also thought this was a great place to discuss what all of our plans are to celebrate, get togethers, events etc.

you know what would be appropriate for the 75th anniversary of Batman?

revealing the new suit. now that would be something.

I would love it if WB re-released Tim Burton's Batman films on the big screen I never seen them on the cinema. Sean Connery/Roger More Bond films got re-release in the UK couple of years ago on their anniversary year.

I saw the Tim Burton movies in theaters but I would love to re-live that experience during adulthood, so yeah, a re-release would be awesome.

I agree, I'd love to see Batman and Batman Returns on the big screen and I know the DVD/BR have cool retrospective featurettes but I'd like to see another maybe 2-hour documentary on all 4 films giving more details to the behind the scenes casting, controversy, backlash with brand new interviews with Michael Keaton espcially since he was absent on the old ones, and also interviews with comic book creators.

Hard to believe it has been nearly 25 years since I was first introduced to the character as a 3 year old thanks to the 1989 film. Another 25 years from now and I'll be 53 while Batman will be 100. That is just hard to understand. 1989 seems like yesterday.

I must have seen Batman like 50 times back in 1989. I'd do it again.

I saw it twice in the theaters at the ripe old age of 5 and I was hoping for even short weekend re-release from WB.

I'm so excited that I've been re-reading the Starlog and Topps souvenir magazine and looking over the trading cards, man the memories. *sniff*

I love those shirt designs, but there is no way I'm paying $45 for a t-shirt.

I 100% agree I cannot believe they're going to be charging that much and it's not like it's even on a designer shirt or anything, what a greedy way to capitalize on the 75th Anniversary.

I agree they make money on films, comics, shows etc... That been said, shipping is US only if even I wanted one of the t-shirts.

I was around 3 or 4 when I was introduced to Batman. My Mom says that without being able to read I could pick out the tape for Tim Burton's Batman and put it into the VCR.

No worries.

And yes, lovely shirts up there but the pricing is absurd.

Some of those "luxury" theaters (Arclight, Cinepolis, etc.) have events where they show some of those old movies on the big screen. I was able to catch a showing of Batman '89 some time ago.

I think something to dream for is a super Batman marathon (Batman '66, Batman '89, Returns, Phantasm, Forever, B&R, BB, TDK, TDKR)

I like the '39 styled design they have going.

That was deliberate on Timm's part... It's supposedly set in 1939 with a (clearly) strong Bill Finger/Bob Kane feel.

Sounds like an adaptation of the Batman #1 story about Hugo Strange's Monster Men.

Big THUMBS UP that it was made in BLACK & WHITE.

Could be a combo of Hugo Starnge appearances from Dectective #36 and Batman #1.
Either way I am glad Hugo was choosen and not another Joker *YAWN* story.
Joker is a great villian but is used WAY too much.
