Default Jenny Olsen, Jenny Jarwich, and Steve Lombard: Characters or Not?

Should the script devote screen time to developing the secondary and tertiary characters of the Daily Planet staff, Jenny Olsen, Jenny Jarwich, and Steve Lombard, or is it better to concentrate said screen time on Batman and his universe, and whatever alphabet soup of villains we'll be seeing?

ETA: I screwed up my title, can a moderator please fix Jenny Olsen to Jimmy Olsen? Thanks.

It really depends on whether this is a story that portrays both Superman and Batman as equal protagonist or whether this is still Superman's story, with Batman being involved in it.

Until we know who is or are the protagonist(s), we can't really accurately guess as to which characters will appear from either of their galleries.

And there is no Jenny Olson btw.....but I dont think it should be centered around them but a few character moments should be fine

I wonder if they had more scenes which were cut out, because they were barely in MoS itself, let alone a sequel introducing new villains and Batman

I hope Jimmy Olsen is introduced. There are obviously going to be some Daily Planet scenes, he needs to be there

FIRST OFF, the character "Jenny" is in the movie............ not JENNY OLSEN. There is no proof anywhere in the movie that this is Jenny Olsen. For MOS2, they could easily not include any of these characters (ex. Jenny and Lambert). The only sole purpose of Jenny in MOS is for the damsel in distress sequence between her and Perry and Lambert to come to her rescue, you couldn't put Jimmy Olsen in that scene, that will make him look weak.

I'd prefer it if they introduce Batman's supporting characters, if they want to build more of a universe. Just like, Gordon, Alfred, Bullock and Fox perhaps, and have references to past encounters with The Joker and maybe a Robin costume in the Batcave. I don't want them to neglect Superman's supporting characters but some people here seem to want them to neglect Batman's supporting characters, even though this is the our first look at him and Snyder's Gotham in this universe. So by all means, have Olsen, Jarwich and Lombard in the film, but devoting screentime to them would likely stretch what is probably due to be an already overstuffed film to breaking point.

I liked the little we got of Lombard (I really dig Michael Kelly) and this Jenny character in MoS, so I don't mind seeing them again. I do really want Jimmy too though.

I hope that they do develop Jenny Jurwich more, but I will be ok either way. I really am not that inpressed with Steve Lombard, but suspect he will reappear.

The Daily Planet scene at the end of MoS is great. I want to see that tone continued at the start of this movie.

Nah, leave it until the next Superman film (assuming there is one). For now, leave the core cast characters as: Clark, Bruce, Lois, Alfred, Perry, Martha and villain(s).

I hope none of these characters are in the film. Maybe one scene showing how much of a pig Lombard is, but that's it.

Clark, Bruce, Lois, Lex, whoever the other villain is, Martha Kent, Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Alfred, and maybe Gordon and Bullock should be the only characters they focus on.

I actually want this to be a TRUE sequel AND have a bit more of Lombard and Jenny, and quite a bit of the REAL Jimmy Olsen. But that won't happen.

I'd like to see the smaller characters get their chance to shine. Maybe, include Cat Grant in the mix.

Jenny Olsen doesn't exist. She's Jenny Jarwich.. and I want to see Jimmy and Cat Grant too.

Don't forget, they cast Scoot McNairy as legless Jimmy Olsen so he'll probably be an important character.

Michael Kelly was perfect casting as Lombard. I liked the actress that played Jenny too. Be happy to see both return.

Legless Jimmy could bring a fresh perspective, he might not blame Superman, but it will make Superman see what his recklessness caused and set the course for his redemption.

At least Lois isn't the only one defending Superman.

Could Major Carrie Farris be included in this category of small characters, since she is returning?

I hope he gets robotic legs with blades on them like that babe in Kingsman. He could become Superman's sidekick, Legless Jim.
