David Edelstein of Vulture is positive:

Some real heavy hitters loved or liked this movie. Great work!

he's not on RT anymore (I think) but ARMOND WHITE… COME ON DOWWWWWWWN!!

http://www.nationalreview.com/articl...e-armond-white

Quote:
Most notably ersatz in The Winter Soldier is superannuated Redford’s first super-villain role. No longer Hollywood’s golden-boy hero — a crown passed on to young Evans –Redford yet flies Tinseltown’s liberal colors, last seen in his disastrous, self-directed The Company You Keep, a dismally obvious apologia for Sixties radicals. That position is also apparent here in his sarcastic portrayal of an autocratic politician who harbors fascist intentions beneath a D.C. wonk’s mask. “To build a better world sometimes means tearing the old one down” he says while viewing the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument from his office window. Redford used to play subtler political games in films like The Candidate, Sneakers, and especially the underrated post-9/11 dialectic Lions for Lambs (his more famous and overrated All the President’s Men and Three Days of the Condor were simply unabashed liberal rabble-rousers).
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
But when this rogue politician murmurs his final words – “Hail, Hydra!” — it is embarrassing proof that the Hollywood blockbuster has not only gone political but also gone stupid.
It is the whoriest moment of Redford’s ersatz political career.
Oh, Mr. White, I you! Only he would call All the President's Men "underrated".

Oh, Armond. He used to get clicks by being a contrarian and riling people's feathers, but now he gets them by being a subject for movie fans to laugh at. So I guess everybody wins, except his reputation, but he doesn't seem to care much about that as long as the sweet, sweet minor advertising revenue comes rushing in.

I wonder what people if any actually look for him for his opinion on what to watch?

Maybe if he hates a movie, people know to go see it?

I wouldn't even say it's that since many comments on NR were bashing him for his pathetic, contrarian review. I have no idea why the NR picked up his review over so many other talented critics.

Leonard Maltin quite enjoyed this one too!

I have no idea how many more reviews we have to move back up to at least 89%.

This is the second negative blurb that complained about the run time.
Yeah, 2 hours and 16 minutes is unprecedented...
Seriously, what a silly complaint. Haters gonna hate, I suppose.

Damn.....that's a s**t load of positive reviews. I think it's safe to say that CA TWS is the IM of Phase 2.

It would need to get 4-5 positive reviews to get to 89%.

It needs 11 positives before it's back to a legitimate 89%, but with how RT seems to round things up, 7-8 could get it rounded up to an 89%.

Until maybe GotG, with it being a somewhat different comic book film, or AoU, which I don't think will get as much goodwill as the first one did.

I can't stand people that say this ****. Yeah, cuz 10-20 minutes is really going to make or break your pea sized bladder.

Here's a novel idea. Go to the bathroom, miss 2/136 minutes, see the film again someday. NEW CONTENT!

I don't just say the IM of phase 2 because of the % score but also the average score. Most MCU movies have average scores below a 7. This and IM got an average score between 7 and 8.

2 more fresh ratings without a rotten and it's back to 89%.

It looks like it has settled to 88 now as I don't think we'll be getting that many more reviews. Not a bad score and actually higher than I thought it would be after the American critics started putting out their reviews.
