You approve, WT?
I'm trying to decide which one of my Top 5 movies I can squeeze out so I can make room for it. The only one that it can't touch is Raiders of the Lost Ark. Raiders is the best movie ever made and can't be topped.

But I'm pretty sure Cap 2 will end up with one of those 2-5 slots.

Yeah… this one's hard for me too.

My Desert Island list… maybe?

1) Ghostbusters
2) Kill Bill 1 and 2
3) Empire Strikes Back
4) Captain America: TWS
5) Avengers

-There is a tossup though, possible four-way tie at 5 w/ Die Hard, Jaws and The Usual Suspects.
-Poop… forgot How to Train Your Dragon.
-Maybe I need to expand my list to 10 Desert Island Movies.

Problem is as soon as you do so you start seeing the need to fill out a Top 20. IT NEVER ENDS!

Disagree, but I love Raiders as well(definitely in my top 10). The only film I've ever given a 10/10, A+ to is Jaws. It's the only film I've ever seen without any detectable flaws. It's basically perfect.

UGH JAWS!

Jaws should really be on my Desert Island list… which will consist of 50 movies at some point, probably...

I count Star Wars and LOTR as one entry. It's a cheat but one I can live with.

I can't tackle the top 10 right now tho. My brain feels hosed.

I know!! So hard… but in the end, I kind of feel that ESB represents for me all of the 70's/80's Lucasfilms awesomeness. So by extension it *kinda* includes Raiders…

Blergh yes.

I'm shocked (not shocked) how much our lists overlap

Red October and Shawshank really, really should be in my Top 10, but damn, then my list would be super male-heavy LOL!

As I've gotten older, I noticed an appreciation for Jaws more and more. I'd watch it every time it was on television. I'd put the DVD in practically once a week, got the BR the moment it was released…

Took me a long time to admit that it was in my Top movies, but everything about that movie is flawfree, even to this day.

Jaws…

My Master's Degree in Basic Arithmetic tells me Cap's RT score is just 2 positive reviews away from 90% again (179/200).

I don't know if RT rounds up right at the 89.5% mark(which is what 2 more +'s will get you). We may need another(so 3 positive reviews for those arithmetically challenged folks) putting it at 89.55% which would then get rounded up. But I'm not sure of RT's policies in that regard.

Jaws…
Yes. It opened jut a week or so after I was born and it's been my favorite for decades. Making a perfect movie is nearly impossible to do intentionally so it made sense when I got older and heard all the stories of the behind the scenes problems they had and how mechanical issues and pure dumb luck combined with raw talent that they already had got them to make a vastly better movie than what had been originally planned(showing the shark early and often).

It's also funny that a horror film is my #1 movie of all time when I usually detest the horror genre. It ain't my thing.

They round up so it has to get to 89.55.

Are there even critics who post reviews a week after a big movie like this opens? I don't remember when the last reviews came in for other MCU movies so I'm not sure if we should be expecting any more.

There are reviewers who post months and even years after a film comes out. Sometimes it's their doing and sometimes it's just that RT didn't add them until much later. Just check the dates of reviews for any previous movie that's been out for a time measured in years. You'll be surprised at how long after release some of the most recent reviews were added.
