oKAY, finally saw Days of Future Past, have to say that the Quicksilver
sequence at the Pentagon was one of the highlights of the film (which was good,
and had great moments, but I think the reviewers have been a bit over-generous,
there ain't no way it was better than any of the Dark Knight films or Man of Steel,
anyway, rant over !)

Anyway, I have to say that the slo-mo used for Quicksilver's kitchen fight was magnificent, as good as Singer's Nightcrawler-attacks-the-White-house sequence.

However, that kind of slo-mo depiction of super-speed I think should ONLY be used by the FLASH in a JL film. Because, as Wonder Woman once said Superman has to think about his super-speed to use it. The Flash, on the other hand sees the world in just this way, as though the rest of us are crawling along. As such, it would be appropriate to use slo-mo in a JL film in which the Flash appeared, but otherwise not for Superman himself. In fact it might be good to use slo-mo to contrast Superman's speed vs the Flash: that to the Flash everyone else moves in slo-mo EXCEPT Superman, who still isn't as fast as him, but close.

Also, I've always found Quicksilver a bit annoying, but Singer made him a lot of fun, and breathed new life into the character. Best Singer film in ages.

Slow mo looks cool for certain scenes and I hope Snyder incorporates them in but not too much.

Some bat-slo-mo action would be cool. Maybe to show off the new Batmobile?

Here's the thing. It's other folks doing slo-mo that's the issue. The Slo Mo in 300 and Watchmen was great.

Snyder knows how to do it correctly.

300

The scene slows down because a lot of cool stuff is happening in the background and foreground.

Watchmen

Used to denote speed and power. And the audience feels the hardest blows. Also they are doing some very pretty moves that it's best to slow down so you can see it.

In both cases the music works with the scenes.

When other people do it, they have no cohesion and it's very "Oh look this is a cool shot in slo - mo".

In Man of Steel who did have slo mo in the form of normal speed.

Honestly Snyder Slo-mo is awesome because it's used wisely. But then Resident Evil and co tell you slo mo is just a gimmick.
