Yeah, he wants to trick baddies into thinking that he's invulnerable. It makes him more frightening and mythic.

You would think...

But unless people are told? Unless the truth gets described as an official declaration by the people behind the film?

I hope people wonder about it for the next two years...
Not until watching the movie, and during a confrontation do we see a bullitt bounce off of the chest.. Then we will know..
But PLEASE Snyder.. Do not explain the materials.. Let the action speak for itself.. Leave the "explain it all with a damn monologue" to the Nolan films..

Just like Burton did back in the day..
Batman gets shot.. And falls..
Batman gets up.. Criminals filled with fear..
Done.. And our answer..

The suit is grey and Kevin confirmed the logo is black

There's a big, fat, black bat across his face and neck? The grammar isn't as specific as people's interpretations.

Gray is technically still black.

Whether that's technically true or not when people refer to black they don't mean grey and vice-versa.

To me the suit looks undeniably black, I know there have been a lot of edits floating around that twist that but i'm 80% sure it's full black or at least not a big black/grey divide.

If anything the TDK was arguably a grey suit depending on the shot and lighting.

Even if Gal Gadot does bulk up some, she's going to look like a friggin' toothpick next to these guys. No way she's going to look that damn intimidating.

Cowl, cape, gauntlets are a lot darker than the suit though. Pretty sure those will be black and the suit will be gray.

It's definitely an interesting effect.
Thrust upon a Superstitious and cowardly lot. Might think they are dealing with something of the killer croc ilk.

It also plays into how other superheroes get surprised to learn he's just a man.

I think it would be an aesthetic mistake to make the suit all one color again and not have a solid black bat on a grey suit. jmo but I'm not alone. anyone paying attention to the forums all over the net know this is one of the major criticisms of the nolan suits.

I thought all WW was good for was to look sexy in a thong and bathing suit.

First we haven't seen her. Your comment lacks fact. I don't want WW being a bodybuldier and scary. Wonder Woman needs to look sexy, warrior, confident, inspiring, she's not batman to be intimidating. And second What that has to be with we're discussing?

Hard to tell as it is with that type of camera, but the different values can be indentified..
Look away from the highlights, and look towards the "right" edge of the emblem.. Though the materials is different than that of the suit? It is also the textures that play games with the values..

The recessed areas in the textured suit are close to that of the darker emblem..
You can see the difference on the edge of the emblem itself..
Though, I do not think the emblem is black..
The cowl, gauntlets, and cowl look black..
The suit looks gray, but cooled down a bit..
The emblem looks like a dark gray than the suit, and looks warmer in tone.
I still think that the emblem and belt are going to be similar, and not black..
Just darker than the suit..

I strongly disagree. You can notice that the body is grey whereas the cowl is black. It's so notorious IMO. But we'll see. An if you guys haven't noticed, look at the symbol. there's too much lightning on it, that's why it looks clear. Maybe not the same black as the cowl but definetely more darker than the body.

I think it is simple..
A decision was made to alter the colors since Kevin saw the suit..

I put a wager on it that the emblem and the cowl are not both the same color..
That the emblem is not "black"..

To me, it looks like the emblem is a darker grey than the body suit (despite what Smith said), but not quite black like the cowl. Either way, I think it looks good. The somewhat monochromatic bodysuit helps give him that stone creature look that I think is new for this character in live action and works really well.

As Wise pointed out, the whole sentence was meant to be a joke. So I wouldn't read into it all all. It can't be considered a confirmation.

You know, there is a scene in Bat'89 where a couple of goons point out to the audience that Batman wears body armor, right? So... It was explained.
