I loved the callbacks to X2 primarily sneaky mystique breaking into an office and when they went to the pentagon the beginning felt like X2. Beast with a group touring the building just like Nightcrawler touring the white house in the opening of X2. Loved that.
They did so many callbacks! Even one from X3, the scene in the final battle where Magneto was throwing debris at Wovlerine as he was running towards him with Wolve deflecting it all was almost shot for shot of the Spike vs. Wolverine scene. Even Magneto sending Wolverine flying through the air toward the river.

Also, the redhead girl on the playground that sees the stadium, I don't think it's Jean. She's also just credited as "little red head girl". I missed the one that mentioned "Spike's" name so the debate is still out on that.

There were some other mutant autopsy pictures I didn't recognize. We saw Emma, Azazel, and Angel. But there was the guy with spikes coming from his face that was shown both in the opening scene and when Mystique found the files. There was the guy with the tattoo on his chest, and one other that I'm forgetting.

So, anyone seen hints of Gambit?

Not that I have, but just asking...

the scene where wolverine walks through the metal detector was a joke pointing at the after credits scene from The Wolverine

pretty brilliant how bryan singer fit that one in... makes the after credits scene even more epic lol

Good catch on the Wolverine stuff, I didn't actually catch that one myself! Ironically, I did notice a different one that was also from X3, near the same point of the movie.

When Beast was thrown(if I recall correctly), or otherwise ended up in that car, and realized that a Sentinel was coming for him, he pulled out a bundle of serum needles and "paused", looking at them momentarily, before injecting himself as a last ditch effort to try and get himself off the sentinels detection system. There were four syringes, just like in X3 when older beast stuck magneto with the four cure needles(and also sort of paused right after doing so, lamenting his choice a bit), I thought that was another cool nod to X3.

I literally just wrote that same thing in the Spoiler thread! I was expecting Magneto to get injected so he wouldn't be able to do anymore damage. That's immediately what I thought when Hank pulled out the syrenges.

When Magneto lifts Wolverine up with the metal pipes/wires in his body, it's totally reminiscent of the imagery from when he extracted the adamantium from his bones in the Fatal Attractions comic

I loved the Quicksilver/Magneto easter egg, I don't read comics but I had read about that before and it was cool. Also when Hank injects himself with those things that look like "the cure" from X3.

I was expecting a reference to Mystique having a relationship with Azazel or something to relate her to Nightcrawler

If Nightcrawler appears in the next movie then I'm sure there will be a Mystique/Azazel name drop. There has to be, right? Blue skin, tail, teleporting power, I mean, c'mon.

He doesn't have much going on besides cheating on his wife so really. He needed it.

I like that Rogue was wearing gloves which probably means the 'cure' in X3 wore off.

altered timeline Worthington labs never came up with the cure, thus Rogue never had to make that controversial decision of curing herself. She may have finally accepted her powers
