Yes, but the effect of how it turns white is always different.

Of course they won't be sued.

Fox is allowed to mention Quicksilver's parentage and mutancy. It's Marvel that isn't allowed to do that.

I hated Bishop's representation. Since when does Bishop need a gun to channel his power. That was just plain ridiculas and silly how they watered him down.

Bishop has used guns in many iterations, he just used it to channel his energy in this.

They probably didn't let him use his energy blasts through his hands because that would look so similar to Havok. Remember Havok has red blasts in the films.

I don't see why that would be the case considering Havok never shot any blasts in the films. His powers manifested as red rings which came from his chest. Visually they would have looked different than Bishop if they stuck to pink blasts he shot from his fist like in the books

Since the 90s. The guns he used in the books were recharged with his powers

Rewatch his only power display in DOFP. It came out from his hand.

The movie hasn't seen a home release yet and its no longer in theaters here so its not like I can just go and rewatch it. Anyways wasn't it red rings, not blasts? In any case that's NOT how his powers were in First Class. Knowing that Bishop was going to be in this, theres no reason why they wouldn't have kept it the same to avoid any similarities. Besides it would only matter if they were in scenes together but considering Havok was only in like 2 minutes and nowhere near Bishop, I don't see why it would have been an issue as there wouldn't be an confusion when it came to the battle scenes

The scene is attached to the second trailer.

All they did was streamline Bishop's abilities like they have with other characters in this series.

He only had a few minutes of screen time. Why try to establish different scenes to use his gun and other scenes to use his power? Even in the comics in cartoons he ends up wielding his guns so much that you might forget he's even a mutant. This worked fine.

Plus if his gun wasn't related to his power it makes you wonder why everyone else isn't carrying around a canon like that...seems like it would be helpful, mutant or not.

I liked that there's a visual effect to his face when he absorbed energy!

Jennifer was fine in the movie. I'm sick of people bashing her in these movies. She did a fantastic job as mystique and she actually got to be her own character. Instead of just being Magneto's henchmen all over again.

I didn't like the soundtrack, John Ottman sucks, he's outdated.
I was hoping for Henry Jackman to reprise his wonderfull work in First Class, he would continue and expand characters themes we loved, I really wanted to listen to a Wolverine theme by Henry. I hope he returns in a future film of the franchise.
I also want Mathew Vaughan to return. Actually, I wanted him for DoFP and am still sure he would have done better. BTW, I loved the movie.

Yeah, the DOFP soundtrack isn't Ottman's best work (it's probably Superman Returns that's his best), but apparently Jackman's Magneto theme was just an arrangement of Ottman's Wolverine theme from X2. (Though, probably unintentional). I think Ottman's best strengths lie in the fact that he's the editor of the film as well as the composer, so the songs and images fit in really well. The entire Paris sequence was really well-edited and composed. But Singer enjoys working with him and it's normal for directors to work with whomever they're comfortable with and have good working relationships.

I wouldn't be against Jackman returning (or Powell even, his work on How To Train Your Dragon was pretty critically acclaimed and X3 soundtrack is great too) as long as they maintain the original X2 suite. Or any director/composer replacing Singer for that matter as long as they utilize the respective themes (X2, Frankenstein's Monster and now Hope) and keep the Cerebro doors opening credits. Those are staples of X-Men films!

On another note one thing I did enjoy was how Singer and Sigel maintained visual continuity from the FC within the 70s sequences. Felt very in line with the brighter world Vaughn had established. I wish Singer didn't shoot digitally though.

Yeah I think the magneto theme from FC is great and I think its a shame they didn't use It at least once or at even create a magneto theme with abit of that thrown in

It would have been perfect to have heard that sorta sound during the scene with magneto taking back his helmet, but the idea was probably that the FC magneto theme is more a revenge theme which may not have suited it

I felt a little disoriented on the Paris scene,

when Wolverine goes into mental trauma after seeing Stryker... there is a moment when he watches Beast in his blue form and goes like: "...the hell is that?!"

Was that intentional or unintentional funny? I cracked up in the theatre but apparently no one else.

I think it broke the tension and suspense of the scene.

I didnīt like it at all.

I donīt feel the scene flowed as it should. Everything is beautiful though, just after Magneto flies through the window to get Mystique. The music is PERFECT.

I thought Wolverine's reaction to Beast was very natural. And I hadn't noticed before but that's the only scene where Beast is seen by people in broad daylight. Wolverine reacts to him and the public is also dismayed by him. He's also crucified by Magneto at the end of the scene and left there for people to look at him. In hindsight, that was a great scene for Beast.

I don't think it broke the suspense in any way. It actually went with people's general reaction of him & Mystique.

I think Holt's Beast was one of the stand out characters in this movie. And for once his make up didn't make me cringe.

What I liked about Holt was his voice, which is deep and rich enough to give you a sense of the gravitas of the older Beast (in contrast to his skinny kid appearance).

But, er, um, this is a thread about flaws. I had a problem with Erik apologizing all over the place. First of all: he didn't seem to be the type. Secondly: his way of thinking turned out to be right, in the original timeline, in the sense that it was a holocaust for mutants.
