When Xavier was yelling at Wolverine saying "I don't want your suffering! I don't want your future!" the only thing I could think of was him talking about X-Men The Last Stand

So does that mean no adamantium for Logan in this time line?

I'm guessing that he gets it in the next movie...when he is turned into a horseman of Apocalypse. My top 4 picks for that crew would be Wolverine, Mystique, Nightcrawler and Gambit...I'd say Angel, but wasn't he mentioned as being killed by Trask in his experiments in DOFP?

EDIT: Nevermind...I forgot, there was a different, female Angel in First Class that was the one mentioned.

one thing that disappointed me about the ending is that wolverine didn't unsheathe his claws to check if he had adamantium.

I think it should have been the real Stryker who took Logan at the end, instead of Mystique. Weapon X is such an integral part to his character. It would have also stated that no matter what you do, some things are meant to happen.

Yeah, it's weird to think that there will be a Wolverine without Weapon X...but in the future he stills remembers Weapon X so it still affects him and he doesn't remember whatever will actually give him the adamantium.

Couldn't it still be Weapon X since the Wolverine from 1973 onwards to where the new future starts doesn't remember any of this.

I do have a random question...why were Havok and the others on the military base to begin with?

Wasn't Havok a prisoner of the military in First Class? They then let him join the military?

Haven't seen the film yet, but according to the stuff I've seen, EVERYTHING happened, as we're dealing with a Legend of Zelda branching timeline scenario, with a bit of Back to the Future, Terminator, and Star Trek tossed in as well.

Same here. It's weird, so, how did Mystique and crew know where to look, or is she getting some help herself from somebody in the future? What's stopping bad mutants from doing the same thing that Wolverine and Shadowcat did, to screw up the timeline again? See, this is why I really don't like movies that can go to and from timelines as they please, it makes things to contrived.

Since Wolverine remembers the original timeline (I think?), Wolverine acquires the adamantium by seeking out Stryker in order to stand a chance against Apocalypse? Perhaps he initiates Weapon X because he thinks the adamantium is necessary?

Idk...

You've said this in three threads now...

Can you elaborate because I don't understand your references.

Regarding Wolverine's adamantium, here are some thoughts-- in the original Weapon X comic, Logan keeps having nightmares that foreshadow the procedure, and he has a nagging sense that something terrible is about to happen to him. What if, in this new timeline, he ends up having similar nightmares that are twisted remnants of his memories from the old timeline? Then if if he's kidnapped and experimented on, it would be pretty faithful to the book's themes of fate and the cyclical nature of his life-- as if he was always meant to go through this suffering.

Sure. Sorry.

The Legend of Zelda game series starts off with a singular liner timeline that eventually splits into three seperate coexisting timelines that 'branch' off the main timeline and deal with what happens in the realm of Hyrule as a result of certain events either occurring or not occurring.

In Zelda, the 'fulcrum' or 'branching point' is the Nintendo 64 game Ocarina of Time (which is preceded in the timeline by Skyward Sword, The Minish Cap, and Four Swords), with the three branches of the timeline shaking out as follows:
Branch 1 (referred to as the Adult Timeline
The Wind Waker
Phantom Hourglass
Spirit Tracks

Branch 2 (referred to as the Child Timeline)
Majora's Mask
Twilight Princess
Four Sword Adventures

Branch 3 (referred to as the Decline or Downfall Timeline)
A Link to the Past
Oracle of Ages/Seasons
Link's Awakening
A Link Between Worlds
The Legend of Zelda
The Adventure of Link

Now to put it in X-Men movie terms:
The timeline starts out with events seen in Origins: Wolverine and includes the events of First Class and everything leading up to Trask being assassinated (which is the 'branching point' for the X-Verse timeline). On the first branch of the timeline, we have the events of the bulk of Origins: Wolverine, the X-Trilogy, and The Wolverine, whereas on the second branch we have the events of DoFP where Wolverine changes things and the events - whatever they might be - of X-Men: Apocalypse.

I'm not sure that I get that picture. The first and second timelines listed are actually the same. The idea is that in the original X-Men timeline, Trask was killed and the Sentinels were being worked on the entire time that X-1, X-2 and X-3 took place...eventually being perfected and unleashed after X-3, which is what we saw in Days of Future Past.

Impossible.

In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Logan met William Stryker before the end of the Vietnam War.
In X-Men: Days of Future Past, the war is over. Logan and Stryker do not know.

In the information revealed by Trask-Industries.com, Sentinels are deployed for 50 years. In the trilogy, this is not the case.

In the information revealed by 25Moments.com, there internment camps for mutants from 2001. Mutants are hunted down, wear necklaces inhibitors in the late 2000s ... before the events of The Wolverine.

So we have three timelines: the timeline saga ; one that leads to the apocalyptic future (with constants: death of Jean, Victor Creed breaks Logan's bone claws, etc), and one with a happy ending.

The turning point is Mystique not killing Trask and getting captured. The flow on effect means it's likely the events of X1, 2 and 3 won't happen any more in the new timeline. Key thing to remember is that because Raven was never captured, tortured and experimented on it's not likely she'll turn into the cold blooded person we see in X1. You see it at the end whilst she still is angry she's also still conflicted, in fact I could make the argument she doesn't actually want to be doing bad things. With nothing to tip her over the edge her path is completely different now, and if her path is different so are future events.

You're saying that the future was changed before Logan went back in time??? And it was said in DOFP that it took a few decades to perfect the Sentinels to where they were unstoppable. The future in DOFP is the future of the original trilogy. There is no evidence that anyone had gone back in time previously to change that.
