The high quality of the transfer makes me so happy.

Well, you know, that and the fact that the release is finally happening.

Exactly! It's been so disheartening that a MAJOR (arguably most important) piece of Batman history has been missing from my ownership for so long. I'm just glad it finally happened before I got old and gray. In the grand scheme of things, I guess it didn't take that long, given that no whole TV show was released on home video until about the 1990s (home video was too timid an industry in the 1980s), so it wouldn't have happened before about 25 years ago anyway... but still. I thought I'd be in my mid 50s before it was possible, but I'll gladly take age 27!

What's everyone's fave episode? Mine would have to be the first Catwoman episode ("The Purr-fect Crime"/"Better Luck Next Time") because I remember how scared I was for Batman in the spike-pit scene as a very young child. Rare for me to have memories so old, but for Batman, I do.

I kind of hope the complete series set isn't the only set they're coming out with. I hope there are individual season DVDs too. I'm much, much less interested in owning season 3 than I am season 1.

Is this pretty much the one classic TV show that hasnt been put on DVD yet?

I would have to say the first episodes with the Riddler. Using their best villain to launch the series was a pretty great move, and the whole Jill St. John subplot shows how serious the show could be in its first season. I wish they had actually kept that tone throughout the series.

The Penguin's first two parter in season 1 - "Fine Feathered Finks"/"The Penguin's a jinx". I love how ruthless and manipulative Penguin was in that one. From the first time seeing him in his cell in prison, and already planning his next crime before he's even been released! To when he tries to murder Bruce Wayne (great to see Bruce go out in the field for a case) by feeding him into his furnace simply because he thinks he's a rival umbrella manufacturer! To tricking Batman into taking a bugged umbrella back to the Batcave and then using Batman as a tool to plan out his own crime for him.

One of the most impressive prop pieces the series ever had was the giant umbrella Penguin launches into the city;

The episode itself was also based off one of Penguin's comics in the 60's, Partners in Plunder;

Not to mention Burgess Meredith's Penguin is my favorite villain of the series. He was just perfect visually, performance wise etc. He was the whole package. The definitive Penguin IMO.

It's been so long that I've forgotten almost all the episodes. It's gonna be cool watching all of them in fresh new eyes. If anything I remember the 66 movie because It's been out on dvd/bluray.

Also, I was reading an article on the Guardian today-celebrities who have/had patents-and Julie Newmar, as it turns out, has/had a couple.

Kane said the artist said there would be more coming, so presumably Catwoman will be one of them.

Amazon has their listing up now... selling it for pre-order $188.98. I could be as high as $250 by the time it hits brick and mortar stores. Surely that would be too expensive for the casual fan or general public. They will definitely be releasing this in individual volumes next year.

http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Complet...lete+tv+series

Also, I really hope this isn't the final cover.
