The History of Batman Killing in the Comics

I’m just finding it amusing how far some people will go to move goalposts and use mental gymnastics to make Batman killing 100% wrong 100% of the time, regardless of self-defense, and regardless of it being indirect or “canon.” Haha.

Various public domain heroes as drawn by Alex Ross. It would be interesting to see movies about any of them I think:

One of the more prominent heroes of his day not that could have been a DC hero, the Black Terror, first appearing in Exciting Comics #9 (May 1941, Nedor Comics):

    List of Golden Age superheroines.

Always cool to see new ideas being done with early heroes.

    List of Golden Age superheroines.

Out of curiosity, I decided to build a list of Golden Age female superheroes and this is the list so far. Feel free to point out anyone I missed: 1939 - Crimson Rider, Golden Amazon, Magician from Mars 1940 - Alice of the Winged People, Black Widow (Timely Comics), Fantomah, Headless Horseman...

Marvel's black female characters appreciation thread.

I'm sure their popularity is building up quite a bit, though with Storm being an earlier creation and having been portrayed in many movies and cartoons and such, I don't think they're quite on the same level of popularity.

And hopefully turns out better than the Generation X film that starred M!

Marvel's black female characters appreciation thread.

    Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

There was also a Golden Age superhero from 1940's Pep Comics called The Comet, who wears a visor to help focus his laser eye vision with and resembles Cyclops.

    Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

Yeah. If a studio had ended up making an X-Men film in 1977, I could see Jack Nicholson (about 40 years old then) taking on the part.

    Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

I don't think I'll ever see anyone beyond a Clint Eastwood-esque character as a definitive model for Wolverine, because I think Hugh Jackman captured that sort of character very well, if that makes any sense. I don't know, I think that any actor that can give off this aura that makes you think...

    X-Men - Part 8

So I'm looking at a bunch of solo X-Men titles. Which one of these is the best?: Iceman (1984) Nightcrawler (1985) Gambit (1993) Bishop (1994) Rogue (1995) Storm (1996) Beast (1997) Colossus (1997) Kitty Pryde, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1997) Longshot (1998)
