I think that's honestly one of the biggest strengths about Kills. Most of the characters are pretty smart/aren't susceptible to 'horror movie logic', with some exceptions of course.
I think Danielle feels obligated to be in a Halloween film with JLC since a lot of fans (especially those whose first Halloween film was H4) think she's just as important to the franchise, when overall, business wise, there is nothing to show for that.
