Saying the cape serves no practical purpose is not only wrong, because it turns into the wingsuit, but it's like saying the bat ears serve no purpose. It's to help create a persona! It's so you can't make out a human shape in the darkness! How can people in a batman focused forum say such things?
Honestly my least favorite part of the movie was this Joker scene. But I guess it's doing its job since its what gets folks talking. To me Pattinson is so monumental in the role that I'd rather he face some new foes and not try to get upstaged by yet another scenary chewing Joker. Though the way...
Rob said in a interview that he is almost like a witch doctor that Gordon turns to because he is so desperate for anything and he seems to be able to get **** done and that's the best description of the Batman in this movie.
Was literally everything I've ever wanted. It was a batman graphic novel come to life. Pattinson carries this. They really weren't lying when they said he was in almost every single scene, and he spoke A LOT in costume, and somehow you can see everything going on in his head just by his eyes...
Yep, crack a joke whenever a scene gets too intense, also remember to shoot it with a very evenly lit set and not too much contrast. Also, don't reference or make an analogy to a real world problem.
Batman Begins has a 68% top critic score. Funnily enough, a lot of the complaints from rotten reviews are the same, that the movie is too dark and brooding. Which is funny, because Begins is arguably the lightest movie of the trilogy.
I don't know why escapism is incongruent with a dark tone. I often watch/listen to very dark stuff whenever I wanna escape from reality. In fact, I find it way more cathartic to engage with these feelings trough a movie or a song.
All the complaints I'm seeing were obvious to me just by the trailers, and to me they sound like compliments. "Too long" - HELL YEAH, "Too Dark" - HELL YEAH, "Bruce is not a playboy and is too emo" - HELL ****ING YEAH
I'm way too excited to see what he does in Dune 2, he seems to be flexing his muscles a lot in this. Wonder if he'll use these lenses and the digital screens again.
It will probably be more like an extended spot rather than a trailer, I would bet. Less than 2 minutes, full of already seen shots, aimed mostly at people following this movie very casually.
I feel like there is no way it grosses only 60 million more overseas than it does in NA, especially with a confirmed China release. I think his NA prediction is mostly in range, but I would add at least 200 million more to the overseas number.
