Six years deep into his tenure I sometimes forget how unbelievably sick it is that we basically have the modern equivalent of peak 70s Pacino/De Niro/Hoffman etc. playing Batman.
Rob Zombie's Halloween II is also really, really interesting. In addition to having the best version of Loomis, there is a really genuine unpleasantness to it that differentiates it from the rest of Zombie's schlock. It at least makes an effort to make you feel some of the deaths on a human...
I feel the same. You have to view Kills as a Danny McBride/DGG satirical comedy first and a slasher horror movie second. Ends is also a lot of fun but the Laurie stuff drags it down and it isn't able to commit to its extremely subversive impulses - Cory should've killed Michael in the sewer...

It’ll never happen. But he’d be absolutely aces for an Al Ghul focused Batman movie. I don’t really have any realistic picks that excite me - Dan Tratchenberg maybe? He’d be okay.

Mister Miracle is my absolute favourite of his comics. Probably top five or ten for modern DC in general. Such a beautiful story. Gotta read Up in the Sky and Human Target.
