The Oscar-winning actress plays Celeste, a pop phoenix who climbs from tragedy to worldwide stardom.
The film, directed by Brady Corbet, spans 18 years and traces important cultural moments through her eyes, starting in 1999 and concluding in 2017.

Starring Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin and Jennifer Ehle.
The film will have original songs composed by singer-songwriter Sia.

That image made me think “Black Swan 2049.”

I really enjoyed this movie. It's weird, may not appeal to some and it's not perfect but I thought it had interesting ideas.

I think the opening section is pretty harrowing but after that it didn't really work for me. It's thematically pretty conflicted, perhaps intentionally, but I just had trouble finding a level on which to engage with it since it wasn't really working for me as entertainment or drama.

When Celeste becomes Natalie Portman (when she grows up) is what I found most interesting. The way she changed, her rants about the industry, her insecurities etc. I did find myself having to stick with it at points but I am glad I did.

Really liked this movie, but it's probably an acquired taste.

To me it was one of the most interesting movies to come out in recent times. I don't think it was entirely successful, but I find myself still thinking about it at times. Especially in terms of pop culture and celebrity behaviour.

I think Natalie Portman makes interesting choices with her movies. They don't always work, but there is some risk-taking going on, or some different ideas being explored. Like Annihilation.

I mean seriously, what the hell was she trying to do there :lmao:

I love Natalie, but sometimes her accents...I mean, I thought she was great in 'Jackie" but that accent and voice at times...
