Wow, Ok.
Just got done watching the show.
It was a bitter sweet episode to watch. I wish the battle was an hour episode and not 30 minutes. The episode seemed a bit hasteful to me.
I really liked the episode, but that was more of a Season Finale than a Series Finale.
Pros: The episode had greats feats with it, such as the return of old, familar faces such as Zatanna, J'onn J'onzz, etc. I liked the action alot. Seeing Luthor attack the parademons and try to fight Darkseid with his dual pistols were great to see. Seeing Batman kick some ass is always a good thing to see, too. Batman dodging the Omega Beam was great. Superman vs. Darkseid was one of the best fights in the DCAU. Superman letting loose and beating down Darkseid was great and truly showed Superman's true power. This episode belonged to Superman, mostly. The ending was great with the running down the stairs and ending it with the zoom in of Batman's ensignia.
Cons: Seeing too much of the Parademons was crap. I wanted to see Granny and the rest of the soldiers of Apocalypse have a role in this. The whole invasion was a bit underhwhelming. The idea of the generators going into the Earth core for fire was very underwhelming to me also. I wish more Leaguers had more screen time. The episode did it's best to fit what it could into 30 minutes, but I think an Hour wouldve been better for the invasion. The ending was great, but underwhelming. The series didn't really come to a good closing. I personally thought Epilogue was a wayy better ending to the DCAU than this episode. This episode did it's deed, but it wasn't as good as Epilogue. Again, I wished more characters wouldve had at least 10 seconds of action. Some like Hawkman, Zatanna, etc, didn't have that much screen time which brings me back to my real problem with this episode,
Time.
Finishing Thoughts:Luthor was great throughout this whole thing, but the ending ended with a Cliffhanger of Luthor/Darkseid/Anti-Life Equation. I kinda wanted to see a great closing, but I guess a Cliffhanger was the way to go for a possible future DTV. Probably a Crisis On Infinite Earths will happen one day, or a
Larkseid/D
ex revenge.
This was one of the best JLU episodes I've ever seen and definately ranks in my Top 6 along with Epilogue, Kid Stuff, Divided We Fall, Alive!, and The Once and Future Thing: Time, Warped.
Seeing Batman and Superman working together was golden.
A great fitting way to end 14 years of great telelvision.
If I had to give a rating, I'd give it an 8 out of 10.
It did it's deed, but It just wasn't a proper series finale to me. It was more of a season finale than a series finale.
"Goodbye DCAU".
I gave my review, now I am awaiting to read Dread's review.
