Superman “My Adventures with Superman” in the works at Adult Swim & Max

The market for YA animated action/adventure series is not very big. CN and Nickelodeon and Disney Channel abandoned those type of shows. Disney+/Hulu probably doesn't want to advertise a competing brand. Max is shifting to more adult focused animation. Paramount is essentially living of Nickelodeon for their younger content. Doesn't really seem to fit with Apple. And Amazon seem more interested in "mature" animation, thus why the picked up Batman. Now, it would fit right in on Netflix, right there with Voltron and She-ra. But they didn't pay up.

It’s my understanding that Cartoon Network isn’t doing anymore new programming except on Adult Swim, so the options were Adult Swim or bust?

Honestly I didn't love the last episode. It felt off to me that the Kents made no appearance as Brainiac searched Clarks memories, and it just felt like he was way too easily manipulated for my tastes. Maybe would have played out better if Brainiac hadnt stood there taunting him. Overall I've just not been a fan of the conflict/angst they've introduced between Clark/Lois and Clark/Jimmy to get there either. It has all felt a bit forced to me.

I still highly rate the show, but I defo preferred S1.

Hoping tonight's episode will at least be a satisfying reunion/pay off.

Well, as indicated by the title of the episode, it went full anime. 200% anime. Needed a little bit more of Studio Trigger animation and some lyrics (ideally japanese) in the big scene, but otherwise, perfect anime.

You know, I really should expect it by now with this show, but the whole Black Mercy stuff caught me off guard by how cute and wholesome it was. The Clark and Lois relationship is too cute, even when they don't know each other. And I loved when Lois lost it and listed all the crazy **** she did to find him. And that triggered Clark response. And goddamn, their escape was goddamn anime, I loved it. Should have used the opening theme though.

Michael Emmerson has been solidified as my favorite Brainiac. Granted, not much exposure elsewhere, but damn, I love his Brainiac. Like the switch to white.

Well, at the start of the episode, I kind of realized how the episode would go, and it kind of did. Clark freed, and Brainiac takes control of Lex's robots. Poor Lex, his life is hard.

Not quite sold on his new suit. Martha better force him to put the briefs back on. But I do like that he is embracing a more Kryptonian look, now that he kind of have memories of Krytpon, even if fake.

Not digging the new suit. Felt they had a perfect look already. Hate the lack of briefs and partial belt.

Solid episode though. Look forward to seeing how this all gets resolved. Emmerson is so good as Brainiac.

Steve Lombard coming to the rescue and even giving Kara the hero pep talk? Could not have called that lol.

Haaaaate the new suit, though! Like conceptually, fine, I get him embracing his Kryptonian side more. but the other suit was already perfection.

Corey Burton as Brainy is at the VERY TOP of that prestigious list and I ain't even kidding. What Burton did for Brainiac made me get up, notice and appreciate the art of voice acting.

Nothing wrong with Burton. But Emerson's voice is so perfect, mixed with the depth of the writing. In general the writing on this show is much better then STAS imo. It's a show that hones in on the importance of Clark, while giving tender love and care to the supporting cast. Lois, Jimmy, and Kara have been beautifully refreshed in my mind.

Fantastic end to a really good season. Continue to adore all the characters. Kara was such a great addition to the cast of characters, love her suit. Very glad we're getting more.

Brainiac was awesome. One of my favorite villains in a long while. Deeply terrifying till the very end, and Emmerson's voice was perfect. Particularly loved his backstory. Had a laugh that it shared some commonality with Snyder's Zod only done well. Brainiac destroying Krypton because he was avoiding deactivation due to peace treaty is fascinating.

Yeah I still stand by what I said earlier during this season that this was much better than Season 1 IMO which was already great, but I really appreciated the character development we got this season with Clark.

Kara and Brainiac really took this season to a whole other level, and it was interesting/refreshing seeing the different twists and turns this season took with the lore of those two characters.

I'm very interested to see where this show goes next.
